Vaccinium elliottii vs 'Elliot' a cultivar of blueberry

I'm not an expert but the article seems to confuse the two. First it says that Vaccinium elliottii bears fruit in the spring through summer but then there's a statement about late-season which would be true of 'Elliot' - a known cultivar of northern highbush blueberry. Was 'Elliot' somehow derived from Vaccinium elliottii? Who knows.
