A Gnome Explains
I became a WikiGnome after I found I had misspelt retrieved, as retreived (ei), three times in one article (one mistake, copied & pasted).
I set myself a "penance" of correcting the "ei" versions in Wikipedia articles, but only intended to do the 100 or so misspellings there were at the time
I then adopted "retrieved" (retreived, retrived, retreved) and then added "rhythm” (rhythem, rhythim, rhythym, rhytm, rythem, rythim, rythm & rythym)
I then got carried away, and adopted the Wikipedia:Lists of common misspellings/R - all of it. Don’t do it, it's bad for your health
Broadcasted
The Wiktionary definition of Broadcasted states that the use is proscribed, so it should not be used.
The word also appears on Wikipedia:Lists_of_common_misspellings/B
Broadcasted appears in some dictionaries, but not at all in others, e.g. Chambers which states "Sorry, no entries for Broadcasted were found".
Broadcast appears in all dictionaries, and should be used throughout, as COMMONALITY - "Wikipedia tries to find words that are common to all varieties of English".
A June 2015 search for Broadcast gave over 163,000 uses, compared with a search for broadcasted which gave just 33.
Of these 33, 13 are redirects to "Broadcast" articles, 5 relate to a 1924 cartoon, and the rest are misspellings in quotations.
Thanks
I keep seeing your name pop up on my watchlist, answering edit requests on caste-related articles. It is really appreciated: far better that someone with less involvement than me deals with that sort of thing because it stops some of the beatings of chests etc that tends to go on when the answer is "no" or only a qualified "yes". Keep it up, please! - Sitush (talk) 09:18, 1 June 2015 (UTC)
research on TM
Thanks for reverting the IP. I'm pretty familiar with the research in this area, and in fact there aren't any published studies that used MRI to study the effects of TM on the brain. TimidGuy (talk) 14:22, 3 June 2015 (UTC)
Question
How to I add footnotes in a page? Or what is footnotes? Nurulhuda859 (talk) 01:58, 8 June 2015 (UTC)
- Hi User:Nurulhuda859
Firstly, please sign your posts on Talk pages with 4 tildes ( ~~~~ ) which leaves your name and the time of your post.
Footnotes are the references within an article to a reliable source which gives a little blue number at the right place in the text, like this [1]
Whereas the reference actually appears at the bottom of the page in the references section, like this.
References
- ^ This is a reference,
- The official guidance is at Wikipedia:Citing sources but the best guide for beginners is Help:Referencing for beginners.
Please understand that we prefer Independant sources, such as newspapers and government reports, not material published by the School, or anyone related to the school. - Arjayay (talk) 09:09, 6 June 2015 (UTC)
Ok . very very thanks for help me .I try to improve my page with your advise. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Nurulhuda859 (talk • contribs) 02:00, 8 June 2015 (UTC)
- Hi User:Nurulhuda859
Please try to understand, it is NOT "your" page it is Wikipedia's page about your school.
And please don't add your signature after your question has been answered, pointing out you have not added your signature. - Arjayay (talk) 06:43, 8 June 2015 (UTC)

New Vision School And College (again)
How can i remove the COI templet from the page New Vision School And College ??
- Hi User:Nurulhuda859
Firstly, as I asked you in User talk:Arjayay#Question above, please sign your posts on Talk pages with 4 tildes ( ~~~~ ) which leaves your name and the time of your post.
Secondly, do NOT delete, or reword questions and answers on other peoples, or article, talk pages; they are a record of conversations and will be archived when the page gets too full.
To answer your question; you cannot get rid of the COI template, as you have a clear COI, and you are the principal editor.
Maybe, in a few years time, when the article has had numerous edits by editors totally unconnected to the school, this can be reconsidered, but until then, it stays.
You have already been warned six times about removing templates - removing the warnings from your page does not remove them from the page history - and are likely to be blocked if you remove any more. - Arjayay (talk) 07:31, 11 June 2015 (UTC)

I'm sorry, I don't speak Italian and Microsoft taranslate gives me the following:-
- ASSOPARDI one of the most ancient and illustrious Pisan noble gossip — which had remained the only exponent in Pisa in the early 15th century — Giovanni di Niccolò Assopardi
- As this does not make much sense, and we don not have an article Assopardi, I have copied your post to Talk:Azzopardi where someone else may be able to help. - Arjayay (talk) 11:47, 14 June 2015 (UTC)

- Please do not post on user-pages, like you did on mine, as this is considered vandalism
- I assume you have come here because I rejected a Semi-protected edit request you made for having no source, and you have now provided a source.
It seems, however, that inclusion of names on the page is subject to some discussion, suggestions need consensus, and this is an area I am unfamiliar with, so would not add a name myself.
It seems the page follows the usual rule of notability, that people need to have an article on the English Wikipedia in order to be included
I have taken the liberty of adding wikilinks to your suggestions, above, which shows that all but one of your names has an article.
I see you have already posted at Talk:Mujaddid, and should continue the discussion there, not here. - Arjayay (talk) 07:26, 15 June 2015 (UTC)
Hi Arjayay, thank you so much for your kind response, help and consideration! I sincerely appreciate it VERY much! Honestly, I am a new user and have no idea what I'm doing. Hahaha! :D
"I assume you have come here because I rejected a Semi-protected edit request you made for having no source, and you have now provided a source."
Yes, this is right.
"It seems, however, that inclusion of names on the page is subject to some discussion, suggestions need consensus, and this is an area I am unfamiliar with, so would not add a name myself."
Yes, I fully understand that.
"I have taken the liberty of adding wikilinks to your suggestions, above, which shows that all but one of your names has an article."
Many, many, many thanks! :)
Sorry, my English doesn't help me much to explain this, but I count on your intelligence. :D With my deepest respect and appreciation. ♥ ♥ ♥ BiKaz (talk) 08:31, 15 June 2015 (UTC)

Help understanding External link
Hello Arjayay! I have a interest in Indian cinema and while surfing on internet I happened to find a website which gives quite good info(crew, plot, budget, box office etc) about movies especially upcoming Bollywood movies, here is the link (http://www.bfwa.in/) its sort of IMDB thing but about bollywood, I find nothing in the website that might undermine Wikipedia Integrity rather it helps new readers like me to understand more about the movie, so I placed this link in to movie page ABCD 2 and couple of others (which you can see from my contributions), but they were reverted by user:IndianBio, he gave me 3rd level warning straightaway and in the very next minute a final warning here despite I didn't make any edit in between those warnings, when I asked him on his talk page, he gave the most absurd reason that I own the website so I am putting the link here offcourse I don't own it you can check. But when I asked him he didn't bother to reply first, I waited and then reinserted, he again reverted and threatened me to block. Kindly help me out here to understand, the website contains no malicious data not promotional, it is simply info about the movie, He is being very bully. I look forward to contribute to Wikipedia but behavior like his may force me to think otherwise. I didn't want to indulge in edit warring with him so I thought I may consult someone else. Looking forward to your response. Angelgirl1992 (talk) 14:28, 15 June 2015 (UTC)
- Hi Angelgirl1992 - Thanks for your post - although I'm not sure why you picked on me.
I know nothing about BWFA, but if, as you say, it is like IMDB, that is the first problem - IMDB is not considered a reliable source, please see WP:RS/IMDB and I have no idea how reliable BWFA is.
We also have a policy WP:ELNO also referred to by user:IndianBio and like to limit the number of External Links - and only use notable sources, but unlike IMDB, BWFA does not appear to have a Wikipedia article of its own, so does not appear to be notable.
I do not know if you have any connection to BWFA, but your editing pattern is unusual in that, until 14 June, you had a mixed set of edits, but suddenly started to add that site to numerous articles.
Furthermore, editors with only 41 edits rarely understand Wikipedia as you appear to - dealing with 4 dead-end templates and some red-links on your first day, and knowing about warning template levels.
I note user:IndianBio also referred to Copyvios on that site - I am not sure why, as I can't see anything immediately obvious, but some sites show different content depending where the reader is (I am in the UK).
More questions than answers, I am afraid, but perhaps user:IndianBio would care to comment? - Arjayay (talk) 18:23, 15 June 2015 (UTC)
Hello Arjayay, I came for some answers but it seems I would continue to be grilled since I am a newbie, anyways I would try to answer your concerns, when I said its like IMDB I meant info wise, I didn't used that link as a source for any statement, but similarly like IMDB gives info about the movie same does this link, actually more. WP:ELNO I don't know exactly what that is, but if the info is valid, should there be a concern about number of external links? which by the way in the articles that I edited are not more than 3 and in some less. Regarding my edit pattern, I don't know what is that suppose to do with the link and info in that link, if I think I can do something good by editing any article I will do, by numerous article you mean 5 right? and once again I have no connection with that website, how can I prove that? is there a oath that I can take to pacify these assumptions or I have to swear on something? I edited the article about cent accounts does that mean I own them?. regarding my understanding of warning levels, if someone wrongly accuse me of something and give final warning when I don't know what my mistake is then its my right to know and study why suddenly I am being threatened to be blocked when I didn't vandalize Wikipedia and did all in good faith. Regarding copyvisio I don't know why he thinks that like wise I don't know why he is destined to block me and why he thinks I am the owner of that website. Why I contacted you because your user page is full of awards and also it says that you have made more than 75000 edit and among active wikipedian so I thought you would better guide me. Let me again ask you. irrespective of what user:IndianBio say, don't you think the link has valid related info about the film? and Is there anything spammy about it? I would appreciate if you can recommend any other user who is an expert on this issue and certainly not user:IndianBio who has made it a matter of his ego because I pointed out his mistake regarding give me warnings. thankyou — Preceding unsigned comment added by Angelgirl1992 (talk • contribs) 19:15, 15 June 2015 (UTC)

Years (active)
From Keira Knightley
Here shows「1993--present」 while Chinese Wikipedia shows「1998至今」(1998--present).Which is right?--Mr.Sun Yat-sen (talk) 03:04, 7 July 2015 (UTC)
- Hi Mr.Sun Yat-sen
The article states:- "Her first role was "Little Girl" in Royal Celebration, a 1993 TV film. A year later, she had a small role in the film A Village Affair. She later starred in 1995's Innocent Lies and 1998's Coming Home."
So 1993 looks right to me, even if you only count starring roles in movies, it would be 1995 not 1998. - Arjayay (talk) 07:19, 7 July 2015 (UTC)- I see.I'll change the information in Chinese Wikipedia.By the way,Chinese Baidu Encyclopedia think she graduated from Esther College, but I didn't find so called
