Cherussery Zainudheen Musliyar (Arabic: جرشاري زين الدين مسليار , Malayalam: സൈനുല്‍ ഉലമാ ചെറുശ്ശേരി ഉസ്താദ് ) was an Indian Sunni Muslim religious scholar from the state of Kerala.[1] He was the General Secretary of Samastha Kerala Jamiyyathul Ulama, the religious organisation of sunni Muslim scholars and clerics, which has the largest number of followers in Kerala and the Pro Chancellor of Darul Huda Islamic University. Called the Shining Scholar ("Zain-ul Ulama") by followers, he is often regarded as the successor of E.K. Aboobacker Musliar, the former stalwart of the Samastha Kerala Jamiyyathul Ulama.[1][2][3][4]

Early life

Born in Kondoty as the son of Chershery Ahamed Musliyar. Studied under his own father and OK Zainuddeen Musliyar, Othukkungal, Malappuram.

Job title

He worked as Mudarris (religious teacher) at Kodangad, Kondoty, Malappuram for eighteen years. Then Chemmad Juma Masjid as Mudarris for several years. And joined Darul Huda Islamic Academy as Principal in 1994 and now there as Pro chancellor till to this date. He is Qhatheeb (Juma pray Imam) at Qaziyarakam Juma masjid, Kondoty, Malappuram, Kerala.

Positions

He was the General secretary of Samastha Kerala Jamiyyathul Ulama the supreme council of Islamic Scholars in Kerala. He served as the Pro chancellor of Darul Huda Islamic University, Chemmad, Kerala, Malappuram also. He was Quazi of hundreds of Mahalls in different parts of Kerala.

Demise

He died on 18th February, 2016 at a private hospital in Kozhikode and was buried in Darul Huda Islamic University campus. [5] [6][7][8]
