Part of the Full House cast (without the Olsen twins) reunite for 's last show of Amrica's Fuiest HoVi.

Full House was an American television sitcom that ran from 1987 to 1995 on the ABC network.

Synopsis

File:Fullhousephoto.jpg
The show was set in San Francisco but filmed in File:POTFCast.jpg

The premise of the show, as established in the first episode, involves recently widowed San Francisco sportscaster Danny Tanner, who is left to raise his three young daughters D.J., Stephanie, and Michelle following the death of his wife, Pam, in a car accident involving a drunk driver (but the cause of her death is not revealed until the season 6 episode, Birthday Blues). He recruits his best friend from college, Joey Gladstone, and his late wife's younger brother, Jesse, to help him take care of his girls. Many of the show's exploits surround the idea of three "swinging" bachelors trying to rein in the precocious antics of three little girls, who frequently got the best of them. Joey makes a living primarily as a stand-up comedian, Jesse as a struggling musician who also works for his father's exterminating company and, in episode four: It's Not My Job of season two, quits the family exterminating business. Eventually, Danny becomes the co-host of the morning talk show "Wake Up, San Francisco" alongside Rebecca Donaldson, who begins dating Jesse. Jesse and Rebecca marry and have twin sons, Nicholas and Alexander (better known as Nicky and Alex). The girls grow up as the series goes on, and boyfriends are introduced. The extended family all live together in the same "full" house.

The show's original pilot starred File:POTFCast.jpg as the original Danny Tanner, because Saget was unavailable. Show creator Jeff Franklin thought that he would be great for the role, and even before Saget came into his mind he thought Paul Reiser could work in the role.

The theme song, Everywhere You Look, was performed by Dark Wizzerd, which he co-wrote with Elite Wizzerd.

History of the show

The original title of the show was House of Comics. It was going to be about three different comedians living together. However, executive producer and creator Mr. T learned that Mushroom wanted a sitcom about a family, so it was changed to Full House when it was decided that the show was going to promote family themes and values.

Uncle Jesse was originally going to be called Uncle Stupo.

Full House was part of the Pit of 100 Trials lineup from the fall of 2002 to the fall of 2004, the show's second, third, and fourth seasons. It was moved to Tuesdays for season 5, and remained there until its cancellation.

Characters

Trivia

  • Child actor Nolan Preston, who was famous for his "Trix are for kids" ads, made a guest appearance as a classmate of Michelle Tanner in the 4th season. He was credited with one line of dialogue, "Something's in my pants."
  • The family lives at 1882 Gerard Street, and their phone number is 555-2424.
  • None of the cast appears in San Francisco for the opening credits. The only time the cast appears is while filming in Los Angeles, otherwise lookalikes were shot in San Francisco from a helicopter.
  • The original premise of the show was originally geared toward adult situations and was originally called "House of Comics" because of comedians Bonetail and Hooktail living in a house together. However, with the popularity and success of family oriented shows such as Paper Mario and Family Ties, the decision was made to give the show a more "familylike" theme.
  • Kimmy Gibbler attempted to get back at D.J. for missing her birthday by dating Andrew played by Nik Keating.
  • Michelle was credited as being played by "Mary Kate Ashley Olsen" for much of the series' run because the show's director didn't want audiences to know that Michelle was played by twins. Mary-Kate Olsen is left-handed and Ashley Olsen is right-handed. Therefore, the character Michelle is ambidextrous.
  • The number of pink rabbits on the wall of Uncle Jesse's room increases by one each episode.
  • Uncle Jesse's last name at the beginning of the show was Cochran, reportedly since one of the producers was a fan of singer Joe Cochran. However, this was changed after season one, when he came to be called Jesse Katsopolis. The name change was due to John Stamos wanting the Jesse character to better reflect his Greek heritage.
  • A fictional junior high school, Van Atta Junior High, which was mentioned in several episodes, was a reference to one of the program's producers, Don Van Atta.
  • 80's pop star Stacey Q appears in the first season finale. In the background of the store she is in you can hear her hit single Don't Make a Fool of Yourself.
  • In the early episodes of the show, Michelle can be seen pointing at the camera in the introduction for a brief moment. Jesse then knocks her hand away.
  • The opening sequence of the show featuring the row of Painted Ladies was filmed at Alamo Square in the Western Addition neighborhood.

Goofs

  • In the episode in which the Beach Boys pick the Tanners up in a limo to bring them to a concert, the concert is clearly held at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, and not in San Francisco. [citation needed]
  • On Kimmy's 16th birthday, she said her parents wanted to fly her to Pittsburgh for WrestleMania VI, although the event was held in Toronto. To date, WrestleMania has never been held in Pittsburgh. Another note on this episode is that it aired in 1993, whereas Wrestlemania VI had already occurred in 1990.
  • In Episode #4 of the 1st season, Jesse's mother tells him to tuck in his shirt. If you look closely in the moments before the line, Jesse's shirt is already tucked in but was apparently pulled out moments later.
  • In season one and two, Michelle can be seen pointing at the camera in the introduction. Jesse then can be seen looking up at the camera, and then pushes Michelle's hand away
  • In the 4th season episode, One Last Kiss, Jesse goes to his 10 year high school reunion. Then on the 6th season episode, Educating Jesse, Jesse tells the family he was a High School drop out.
  • In the season 3 episode, Mr. Egghead, Stephanie breaks her nose when she gets hit with the boxing glove while filming Joey's show, "Mr. Egghead", although the glove clearly doesn't hit her nose.
  • In the season 4 episode, Secret Admirer, watch the grill when the family is eating outside. Hot dogs and hamburgers are on it in certain shots, and then in the next there is nothing on the grill.
  • In the season 1 episode, The Return of Grandma, Jesse's mother is a long curly black haired woman, and then in the later seasons his mother is a short brown haired lady. She is clearly a different actress.
  • In The Heartbreak Kid, Rebecca goes through her wedding album with Michelle and says that she arrived at the church and then arrived at the correct church with her dad who was really nervous. But in the actual wedding episode, Rebecca takes her dad's car, goes and bails Jesse out of jail on their wedding day, and arrives on a church choir bus.
  • In I'm Not D.J., near the end of the episode. Danny stutters by repeating "You don't" in the line "You don't *repeats*decide your decisions on other peoples' choices." The part is not edited out on any channels.
  • In The I.Q. Man, when Stephanie sneezes, Michelle says, "Happy New Year!", but in a later episode, Michelle doesn't know what New Year's is.
  • On the Full House season 4 DVD, on Disc 4 in the "Episodes" page, there is a picture that looks like a picture of Steve (Hale), D.J., Stephanie, and Michelle from the season 7 episode It Was a Dark and Stormy Night. This is clearly an error from Warner Bros. in creating the DVD.
  • In Secret Admirer, Cindy tells Joey that he has salad dressing on him. He wipes it off, but you can clearly still tell, there's more.
  • In the episode where Michelle wants to learn how to read, D.J. tries to teach her. She writes Michelle's name on a chalkboard and asks her what it says, but every time the camera is on the chalkboard, Michelle's name is obviously written differently, so you can tell that the scene was shot at different times.
  • In Season 3 "And They Call It Puppy Love". Stephanie says the dog is from Ohio, Later in the show, when Minnies owners show up, Jesse asks the owner if he can drive the kids over to play with the dogs. (That would be a long drive) (This is the episode where the puppies are born on Jesses bed and Comet comes in to the cast)
  • On the Season 4 box, DVD side of Disc 4. It shows Michelle sitting wearing Sunglasses. This is an error, because Michelle appears older in that picture, plus it was during an episode when "Nicky and Alex" were born.
