The NXT Tag Team Championship is a professional wrestling tag team championship created and promoted by the American professional wrestling promotion WWE for their developmental brand, NXT. It was introduced on January 23, 2013. The Undisputed Era (Bobby Fish, Kyle O'Reilly, and Roderick Strong) are the current champions in their first reign, both as a team and individually. Fish and O'Reilly defeated SAnitY (represented by Eric Young and Killian Dain) on the November 29, 2017 taping of NXT, which aired on tape delay on December 20, 2017, the date WWE officially begins their reign, while Strong was later added via the Freebird Rule after Fish was injured.
As of July 14, 2024, there have been 13 different championship teams, and 26 individual champions with the team of The Revival (Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder) holding the most reigns at two. Individually, Adrian Neville, Dawson, and Wilder have the most reigns, also at two.[1] The inaugural champions were the British Ambition (Adrian Neville and Oliver Grey). The team with the longest reign is The Ascension (Conor O'Brian/Konnor and Rick Victor/Viktor) at 364 days (WWE recognizes it as 344 days, but still the longest),[2][3] while the shortest reign is The Wyatt Family (Luke Harper and Erick Rowan) at 49 days.[1] However, due to tape delays, which are the dates that WWE recognizes for the NXT Tag Team Championship's title history, they recognize The Wyatt Family's reign as 70 days, with American Alpha (Chad Gable and Jason Jordan) having the shortest reign at 68 days. Rezar holds the record as the youngest champion when he won it at 22, while the oldest is Bobby Fish when he won it at 38.

However, on the April 11 tapings of NXT, Strong became recognized as champion in Cole's place, with Cole's reign becoming retroactively unrecognized. WWE recognizes this as a single uninterrupted reign for Fish, O'Reilly, and Strong that began on December 20, 2017, when Fish and O'Reilly's title win episode aired on tape delay.[19] |
