Archive an entire domain

Hello! After deploying IABot on the Hungarian Wikipedia, I think we can deal with this request. In summary, Magyar Nemzet's last edition was published in April and its website (mno.hu) can die anytime. Would it be possible that we archive these links? I am just guessing, but probably “Manage entire domains” is our man, right? Furthermore, can I ask that when v2.0beta4 will be available for us? Best regards, Bencemac (talk) 07:07, 24 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

(talk page watcher) @Bencemac: InternetArchiveBot doesn't archive pages, as far as I'm aware; it just fixes dead links. If the website still hasn't been entirely archived, maybe you could try asking the people at https://archiveteam.org (not affiliated with the Internet Archive). Jc86035 (talk) 08:39, 24 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Jc86035: I know it, I mean IABot should archive the links if there are archived versions (like the domain would be dead). Bencemac (talk) 08:52, 24 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
IABot can submit pages for archiving if it needs to but it's much easier to submit domains to the Wayback devs and have them run their crawlers. In case I forgot, I submitted a request to the devs.—CYBERPOWER (Around) 12:33, 24 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Does this mean that IABot will archive these links if it finds their archives? Bencemac (talk) 19:15, 25 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
If Internet Archive has the linked archived, and the original is dead, IABot will add the archive to it.—CYBERPOWER (Chat) 23:10, 26 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
It looks like I was not clear enough. The original links are not dead because the domain is still alive, so IABot is not archiving these links. Could it be possible that IABot archives these link (inserts archiveurl etc.) even thought they are alive? Bencemac (talk) 12:23, 27 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Unless set on the configuration, no it won't. It will only add archive URLs to dead links. You can also use the tool to add archives to live URLs with the Single Page Analysis tool.—CYBERPOWER (Around) 12:25, 27 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

An issue and many thanks

The bot InternetArchiveBot made two errors in an edit on the Swedish Wikipedia here. First, it got the title wrong and used the name "Arkiverade kopian" (perhaps because the Swedish parameter in the previously used Wayback-template is "titel" and not "title"). Second, it used a parameter without a name. There is no parameter name to the left of the equal sign before the original url. Last, 99 thanks for running the InternetArchiveBot. It performs a very important task and I appreciate it very much. --Bensin (talk) 07:17, 26 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Bensin: The failure to carry over the title correctly is a known bug that will be fixed in the next beta. Also fixed in the next beta is the empty parameter issue. Thanks for the report.—CYBERPOWER (Chat) 23:08, 26 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Great! Thanks! --Bensin (talk) 05:33, 27 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Request

Hi Cyberpower678, I ask for an intervention of your bot (InternetArchiveBot) in co.wiki: there are few external links but some of them are wrong. Can you do it? --Jumpy01 (talk) 22:07, 26 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I need a brief discussion with community support for it, a couple of willing translators, and the bot requests page.—CYBERPOWER (Chat) 23:06, 26 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

InternetArchiveBot

Hi, can a InternetArchiveBot be launched in Serbian Wikipedia and other related projects in Serbian? If it can, what do you need to do to enable the bot? Best regards! --Ранко Николић (talk) 02:20, 27 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Ранко Николић: Please see T182206. If you could answer my question there, I would greatly appreciate it.—CYBERPOWER (Around) 12:27, 27 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
My account has not yet been approved on Phabricator, so we will continue the conversation here. Which pages should be translated? I will do that. --Ранко Николић (talk) 13:57, 27 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Accounts don't need approval on Phabricator. You should be able to create an account and bind it to your Wikipedia account.—CYBERPOWER (Chat) 13:58, 27 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Ранко Николић: Basically I need everything translated found here as well as the questions answered.—CYBERPOWER (Chat) 14:07, 27 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Is this enough? --Ранко Николић (talk) 15:15, 27 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Ранко Николић: That page isn't actually used anymore, but yes, it'll do. I'll transfer the text into my configuration. Can you also answer the 4 questions on the bottom of the linked post?—CYBERPOWER (Chat) 15:21, 27 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
If the page is not needed, I will delete it later. I do not know if the messages on the talk page are needed at all, what is the practice in English Wikipedia? We use the same templates for dead links and archives like on English Wikipedia. Cite templates are the same like on English Wikipedia. Typical formatting use for time on our Wikipedia is 27. 07. 2018. or 27. јул/jul 2018. (fot July 7, 2018). --Ранко Николић (talk) 19:52, 27 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Ранко Николић: One last thing, is the bot already approved, given it's been given he flag already, or does it need to go through an approvals process.—CYBERPOWER (Chat) 20:02, 27 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
By this vote, the bot got support and was then given a flag. --Ранко Николић (talk) 20:08, 27 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Cool, then I will bump the wiki up to next 4 on my todo list.—CYBERPOWER (Chat) 20:10, 27 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
When could it be expected that the bot starts working on our Wikipedia? --Ранко Николић (talk) 20:14, 27 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Sometime, within the next 7 days.—CYBERPOWER (Chat) 20:20, 27 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Cyberpower. This edit credited InternetArchiveBot ... do you want this article to run at TFA? - Dank (push to talk) 17:44, 27 July 2018 (UTC) Also pinging the FAC nominator, Strikehold. - Dank (push to talk) 17:45, 27 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I didn't realize my bot could write FAs. I have no objections.—CYBERPOWER (Chat) 19:02, 27 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Curious

This edit added the archive link to a citation that already had it. This resulted in the citation showing the following error messages: "More than one of |archiveurl= and |archive-url= specified (help); More than one of |archivedate= and |archive-date= specified (help); More than one of |accessdate= and |access-date= specified (help)". I've reverted the bot, but you might be curious to look into this. Imzadi 1979  20:33, 28 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

textual.ru & maps.rosreestr.ru

Hello. Please make bot don't touch that links.

  1. textual.ru have broken WebCite archives, they deserve removing, not "fixing". Example: ru:Большая Копса, url, broken archive (пїЅпїЅпїЅпїЅпїЅпїЅпїЅ is not Russian, it's a trash). Also, this website is database extract, which is already archived, so its archivation is not needed also because of this reason.
  2. maps.rosreestr.ru archives are useless. This website was offering an interactive map, archive services can't capture that functionality. Example: ru:Воль (приток Вычегды), archive.

Thanks. — Vort (talk) 21:14, 28 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
