Simon Kaloa Kaʻai

[edit]
  • ... that Simon Kaloa Kaʻai, a former jailer, became a noble and cabinet minister to a king? Source: "briefly turnkey of Oahu Jail...he was appointed by Kalakaua to the House of Nobles to strengthen the royal power in the legislature. As minister of finance..." [1]

  • Article is new enough, long enough, and adequately sourced. Hook is interesting, fact is in the article and cited inline, and sourced. I'd suggest however that "jailer" either be replaced or linked to prison officer, or maybe that the word "turnkey" be used here since that's what's in the article. No close paraphrasing was detected. A QPQ has been done. Although this is good to go, there is one minor issue that I suggest should be fixed ASAP: "renown musician" should be "renowned musician".
