Oleg Vinogradov

[edit]
  • ... that Oleg Vinogradov was the first Soviet ballet master to invite Western choregraphers like Maurice Bejart to stage works for the Kirov Ballet? Source: "It was Vinogradov-who has led the Kirov since 1977-who took the initiative in this historic breakthrough, just as he was earlier the first Soviet ballet master to invite such contemporary Western choreographers as Maurice Bejart and Roland Petit to stage their work for the Kirov." (source: Kriegsman, Alan M. (1989-07-23). "The Kirov's Open Season; Vinogradov & His Inimitable Leningrad Troupe, Basking in the Glow of Glasnost". The Washington Post. • ALT1:... that Oleg Vinogradov helped bring Balanchine ballets to Russia?Source: "The young choreographer, Oleg Vinogradov, carried from it the determination that, should he ever have a company of his own, he would try to bring Balanchine works to Russia. Even as artistic director of the Kirov, it has taken Mr. Vinogradov 11 years to accomplish this." (NY Times)

Interesting life, on good sources, no copyvio obvious. Suggestions for the article:
  • Move the education to the body, and make the lead a true summary of the most important facts.
  • Consider an infobox.
  • Provide his name also in Russian.
  • Check if red links have an equivalent which you could make accessible by using the ill-template, example name in English [ru].
  • Consider providing composer when mentioning pieces, such as "Adam's Le Corsaire. - Happy editing. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 11:41, 12 May 2018 (UTC)

@Gerda Arendt: Ok, I removed the red links pending creation of the articles, and added an infobox, expanded the lede, and added Vinogradov's name in Russia - re composers, I added Adam to Giselle, and Tchaikovksy and Minkus where appropriate, but Le Corsaire is a tricky one so I left it alone [1] [2].Seraphim System (talk) 13:26, 12 May 2018 (UTC)
Thank you for all this! Nothing wrong with red links, just when interlanguage is even better when available, - for French I can tell, but for Russian and Chinese not ;) --Gerda Arendt (talk) 19:39, 12 May 2018 (UTC)
