In my experience "supreme leader" refers to the all-powerful person not more frequently than it refers to a mere paramount leader... СЛУЖБА (talk) 10:55, 8 April 2012 (UTC)

Supreme leader → Supreme Leader (title) –. The primary use of the phrase "supreme leader" is Supreme Leader of Iran, and so this title should redirect there and so this page needs to be moved. This is being discussed as part of the discussion about where Supreme Leader (note capital) should redirect, so please comment at Wikipedia:Redirects for discussion/Log/2012 August 24#Supreme Leader rather than here. - Oppose - the current article is correctly located, and named. Moving it or redirecting the term to any "supreme leader" would be POV. --Education does not equal common sense. 我不在乎 00:36, 25 August 2012 (UTC)
- Oppose. If there is there is no intention to move "Supreme Leader of Iran" to "supreme leader", then this is disambiguation without a purpose. If you google "supreme leader", result No. 2 is this article, and the No. 3 result refers to North Korea. Kauffner (talk) 02:03, 25 August 2012 (UTC)
- Oppose. Generic title. -- Necrothesp (talk) 14:01, 29 August 2012 (UTC)

Usage of the term
Although Emperor Hirohito held supreme power over Japan, is there any evidence that the term 'Supreme leader' (or a Japanese equivalent), as opposed to 'Emperor', was actually used to describe him? --jftsang 11:21, 20 August 2017 (UTC)
- Apparently not. Will delete.♥ L'Origine du monde ♥ (♥ Talk♥ ) 05:09, 24 May 2018 (UTC)
