Arates (Template:Lang-hy); historical name - Arates; known in the Soviet period as Aysasi, Kizilgyul, is an abandoned village in the Vayots Dzor Province of Armenia. It once belonged to the community of Hermon. Arates hosts the Arates Monastery, a medieval Armenian ecclesiastical complex.
