Untitled

A note on the title: The European Community is a legal entity which is geographically identical with the European Union (but legally one of several distinguishable parts, or pillars of the EU), and since the latter is a more widely known and used title it seems more logical to use it. --Oden 20:08, 26 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Questions

    • Six months later and there's still no clear explanation of why these carriers are banned from the EU. Seems like that would be an important part of the article. If any editors have an understanding of this, it'd be a helpful addition. 70.116.9.52 (talk) 16:27, 21 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I have added an explanation under background. MilborneOne (talk) 18:56, 21 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Information

The newest list is valid from April 11 2008: http://ec.europa.eu/transport/air-ban/pdf/list_en.pdf —Preceding unsigned comment added by 193.214.122.25 (talk) 15:24, 16 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Ariana

If Ariana is totally banned why does it have an A321 flight from Frankfurt? WhisperToMe (talk) 08:01, 20 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Just to repeat my answer to the same question on Ariana Afghan Airlines for information - Ariana is using a Turkish-registered (TC-TUC) Bestair A321 on short lease. The eu document says Air carriers listed in Annex A could be permitted to exercise traffic rights by using wet-leased aircraft of an air-carrier which is not subject to an operating ban, provided that the relevant safety standards are complied with. Source

I just noticed this one Yahoo which might be helpful to the article [1]. AfroGold - Afkatk 00:46, 4 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of article as it currently is largely a mere list, not an encyclopedia article

The article should be re-written in terms suitable for an entry in an encyclopedia. It needs to give real information about the list and related topics, with citations, rather than really acting as a mirror for it, and a potentially permanently outdated one at that. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 83.105.29.228 (talk) 16:04, 21 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Syrianair?

Syrianair haven't flown to the EU since July 2012, and its not on the EU Airline Blacklist, how come it's not listed? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 200.89.97.80 (talk) 02:18, 29 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Well probably as you just said it is not on the blacklist so it is not banned. MilborneOne (talk) 11:10, 29 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Ukraine?

Why does the map show Ukraine as "Some airlines banned", when none are listed. Mirza Ahmed (talk) 09:19, 3 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

List of air carriers banned in the European UnionList of airlines banned in the European Union – This article lists airlines that are banned in the European Union, and the word 'airline' is used much more commonly than 'air carrier'. 64222368Z260O (talk) 04:09, 12 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
