Storm in a Teacup S.r.l. is a video game developer founded in 2013, based in Rome, Italy. The idea was born by Carlo Ivo Alimo Bianchi, an industry veteran of that decided to return and invest in its country after 15 years of work abroad in some of the largest companies as a high-level professional figure.

History

Before creating Storm in a Teacup S.r.l., Carlo Ivo Alimo Bianchi worked as Lead Artist and Project Manager for companies such as Digiguys, Ilion Animation Studios, Passion Pictures, Framestore, Dneg, Ubisoft, Square-Enix, Metricminds, Crytek, Warner Bros.

In 2013 He decided to get back to Italy and go independent, founding his own company in Rome. Storm in a Teacup Head Quarter, Stormville, is located in southern Rome.

N.E.R.O .: Nothing Ever Remains Obscure was the first project of the company, presented as a Microsoft Xbox One exclusive at E3 2014[1]. Developed with Unity, the game was released in May of 2015 on Xbox One and on PS4 and PC Steam in 2016. N.E.R.O. has been awarded 2 Drago D’Oro Italian Video Game Awards for the Best Italian Game 2016 and the Best Artistic Direction 2016[2] and it won the Best Video Game Trailer Award at the Trailers FilmFest 2014.[3]

In 2015 Storm in a Teacup developed ENKI, a first-person horror adventure, featuring multiple endings that provides gamers with a replayable gaming experience. The game was developed with Unreal Engine and published on Steam.[4]

Lantern is the third product of Storm in a Teacup, it aimed Virtual Reality market thanks to the technology of Oculus Rift and HTC Vive, mantaining a PC gaming experience even without virtual reality. It was released by 1C Company publisher on Steam platform in November 2016.[5]

In 2019 Storm in a Teacup released Close to the Sun, a first person horror adventure set in an alternative late 19th century and involving Nikola Tesla. The game was published by Wired Productions[6] and released as an exclusive on Epic Games Store on May 2nd 2019[7]. Consoles versions followed on October 29th 2019.[8]
