Regarding Deletion of Fresh Rooms

Hi Jimfbleak, After the deletion of the page named 'Fresh Rooms' we are re-writing it with the perspective of an encyclopedia. And this time we are going to draft it in the sandbox. I request you to kindly guide how it will go further. NarendraKumarPankaj (talk) 11:54, 27 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Replied on user talk page Jimfbleak - talk to me? 13:41, 27 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Jimfbleak, I read your reply and regarding COI, I would like to say, there is no relationship between Fresh Rooms & I directly, I always wanted to become an independent contributor to Wikipedia. Hence, I started with this article. Indirectly, we both belong to the same city we live in i.e. Bhopal. If this is something I should be cautious about then do let me know.

Now, after analyzing several pages about other companies and examples started by you, I learned to fix the content. Also, I understood the difference between an Independent website for notable reference and a blog.

If you allow, can I submit it in my sandbox so I get valuable recommendations and feedback from you prior to making content live? NarendraKumarPankaj (talk) 08:46, 28 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

NarendraKumarPankaj, you do need to be cautious. You said we are re-writing it with the perspective of an encyclopedia. And this time we are going to draft it in the sandbox.— Who is "we"? Why do you want to recreate this particular article if you have no connection, it would give you less grief to write about something else? I strongly suggest that you don't attempt to edit this topic until you've been completely transparent Jimfbleak - talk to me? 16:13, 28 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I don't know why you are getting so furious for me writing on this topic. As I said we both belong to the same city i.e. Bhopal and it is kind of a proud moment for the people who live in Bhopal for getting such a good facility. Also, I said I have the interest to become a contributor to Wikipedia. I have a few more topics to write on and I have no direct connection either.
And why I'm trying again - I failed in the first attempt that made me determined to write it and again. And I want your help with that too. So, I request you to kindly help me to achieve my goal to become an independent contributor. If you want to give me any other topic of your choice, I'm ready to write on that too.
And regarding "we" I usually write "we" instead of "I". In India, it's a common problem with most of the people who usually use "we" instead of "I". That's just a typo error. NarendraKumarPankaj (talk) 04:08, 1 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Jimfbleak, Thanks for understanding and pardon me for my tone. I will soon come back with the content. All I am looking for help from you. I believe I can write inside a sandbox where you can comment on what to update or remove from the content. Thanks NarendraKumarPankaj (talk) 21:03, 1 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Draft:Skunky

Hey There! I recieved a warning on a draft I did with reliable sources. They said the sources I used were not reliable, but someone else appointed me to another user to ask them. They cleared the sources, so I used them. The entity in which I wrote about did not have a Wikipedia page yet and he needs one do to who he is. When people look him up under skunky, they pull up the definition of a skunk and what a skunk here on Wikipedia is. Its very misleading, so I started gathering references and I wrote his article. How do I fix this, because his sources were approvedby another user? Curly Carley 11:35, 28 October 2019 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Curly-carley (talkcontribs)

Reaching in: Not clear to my why CC is writing to you. According to the history of Draft:Skunky, Curly-carley is not the creator of the article, only an editor who moved it from draft to article (subsequently reverted by another editor). If CC is claiming to have written it (above), then using two accounts - one to create and one to approve! David notMD (talk) 12:28, 28 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks David notMD. Curly-carley, can you explain that. Also, if you have a conflict of interest regarding this article, you must declare it Jimfbleak - talk to me? 16:19, 28 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
The creator was going to tie together the sources and make it sound professional. I gave her the outline and references, she tried to write it in a professional way, but she didn't try to find more references for the entity. So I have taken over editing to ensure that the article is as professional as possible, and overall, If i cannot find enough references now, i'll download the files and shut it down till more than just mentions show up. Curly Carley 16:32, 28 October 2019 (UTC)
Curly-carley: since the discussion seems to be here, please explain your connection to Skunky (paid or personal contact). My thinking is that this is probably WP:TOOSOON, and you should just stop working on the draft. David notMD (talk) 17:14, 28 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I will save the draft into Microsoft, then, I can delete the draft. So that way in the future, If he ever receives reliable resources, I can look back. Thank you for your help! Curly Carley 17:33, 28 October 2019 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Curly-carley (talkcontribs)

About the "Auto Bio" stuff

Hi Jimfbleak, so you had sent me a message about my first page being an article about me. Yes, I happened to search myself on wiki, and did not see anything. So how do I add information about myself to wiki? I am a YouTuber with over 100k subs, and a quick google search of me "Heath Haskins" or "CodePrime8" will result in alot of info about me. Just curious as to how/who would add me, if its not already there. Thanks in advance! CodePrime8 (talk) 16:00, 30 October 2019 (UTC)Heath Haskins[reply]

CodePrime8, having a proper book (not ebook, not vanity publisher) certainly helps, but it's not enough on its own, unless the book is itself notable, in which case the article should be about the book with you as a redirect. You need to show that independent third-party sources, as described on your talk page, have made non-trivial mentions of you Jimfbleak - talk to me? 12:02, 31 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

About conflict of interest

Deletion of company page

Hi Jimfbleak, I've seen Divido's page has been deleted due to unambiguous advertising. I can't recall what was on there but please do let me know how we can edit to get the page back online. It takes a while to get the content in there and we're a small business, so if there's any chance we can get it back and then make edits, that would be amazing. Reinstating or rewriting page on Mary Crooks AO

Hi - you deleted a page on Mary Crooks about a year ago citing that it was someone writing about themselves. I don't know if I can look at that draft to see if it's writing about the same person - I want to write about a notable female public figure in Victoria, Australia, but I think she's been mixed up with a poet? Anyway, happy to start from scratch, just curious to see if this page that's been deleted is about the same person and whether I can write over the top. ThanksVery neant (talk) 09:34, 1 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Very neant Mary Crooks was Mary-Kate AC Nevin-Crooks, claimed to be an author and poet, so not your person. You'll need to create a different title, though, otherwise the histories will get confused, eg Mary Crooks (assassin) or whatever she is {: Jimfbleak - talk to me? 13:22, 1 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Response to conflict of interest query Draft:Stewart Henderson (footballer, born 1982)

Hi Jimfbleak, I would like reply to the COI query.

Stewart Henderson (talk) 14:01, 1 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Jimfbleak, note that the title contains additional detail to differentiate the name as there is an existing article for the same name, who is also a Scottish footballer by coincidence.

Is it possible to retrieve the page for edit and submit or have someone else submit on my behalf? Is this something you can help with? I wanted to be able to record the fact that i had played senior football.

Stewart Henderson (talk) 14:11, 1 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Stewart Henderson the page wasn't deleted, just moved, I've moved it back and tidied it a bit. You need to put your references in-line as it says my guidance, the format is <ref>{{cite web |url= |title= |first= |last= |publisher= |accessdate=</ref>

Regarding my draft on John M. Martinis

Hi Jimfbleak,

You say I have "an obvious conflict of interest', but I do not see what you are referring to. Could you please elaborate further? My references are mainly peer reviewed papers and the Google AI webpage on Martinis. Last but not least, I am NOT related in anyway to Martinis. Lmanenti (talk) 07:39, 3 November 2019 (UTC)Lmanenti[reply]

Lmanenti Almost always when people write a full biography as their first editing attempt, and have made no other contributions, they are writing about themselves. However, I'm happy to accept your disclaimer above. The problem with using his own papers as a source is that you go on to state they achieved quantum supremacy (hereby disproving the extended Church-Turing thesis) for the first time as a fact, despite it being referenced to a primary source of which he is one of the authors, see here. Peer-reviewed or not, you really need a proper secondary source to present that as a fact rather than their claim. Jimfbleak - talk to me? 11:40, 3 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Why my page hasn’t been published

Dear All,

I am writing to ask why my page about the Music EP hasn’t been published. I understand that I know the creator of the EP, but I did mention that. I think that my article is worthy of being on wiki.

I fully understand if you guys say no- no offence taken!!

ReV IceMan 4, I assume you mean Draft:Live In Concert- 2016-2019 (Frederik Pusch EP). If you look at my posting on your talk page, your article has no proper references (YouTube isn't acceptable), there is no indication of where the text comes from, although it looks like a copyright violation, and it's full of opinions. Live in Concert (Manafest album) is poor, but makes more effort to comply. Also you haven't declared a COI Jimfbleak - talk to me? 14:30, 5 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Conflict of Interest

Hello,

Please guide of how to disclose COI and remove the ""paid editor"" template from wikipedia pages — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kumargau (talkcontribs) 03:35, 6 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Kumargau, you made a correct declaraion on your user page, then blanked it. I've restored the declaration. If you remove it again, I'll block you as an undeclared paid editor. Also note that the declaration doesn't mean you can post what you like, if you don't follow our guidelines that will lead to a block too. Jimfbleak - talk to me? 06:28, 6 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the explanation. I was confused about COI. Thanks for reverting it back. Just one question, The "paid contributor template" is showing on my all pages. How can i remove that template? Do i need to disclose my employer details inorder to remove the message showing on all pages? ..
Below example - I am writer. Works at xxxx Corp. . Please guide me
Kumargau, please sign your posts using four tildes ~~~~. You must not remove the message; if you do, you are hiding your COI and will be blocked Jimfbleak - talk to me? 06:43, 6 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for explaining. I will not remove the message. I want to disclose my COI emplyership by writing "i am work for a xxx company and being paid for edits" Just wanted to know the possibilities on how to remove the "paid contributor template" from all pages that i have edited. Will it get removed automatically if i disclose everything in a proper way? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kumargau (talkcontribs) 06:57, 6 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Kumargau, please sign your posts using four tildes ~~~~. No, if the messages go, you are concealing your COI, so you either live with the messages or get blocked. If someone else removes them, that's a different matter, although they would need to justify such an action Jimfbleak - talk to me? 07:01, 6 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

And CSD'd (before) as well. I wondered why it came up on my watch list.Slatersteven (talk) 16:48, 6 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Slatersteven, hi Jimfbleak, I was the creator of this article. Did not know that the page had already been create before. Thanks for the delete if you feel it was inadmissible. However, do we not agree that there can be a change of admissibility/ notability status of the subject? Wikipedia advocates page protection in highly volatile/ exposed cases (which is not the scenario here). More so, an indefinite protection defeats the very democratic purpose of Wikipedia. Thanks! (talk)
Beluseid, you seem remarkably well informed on Wikipedia's policies for a supposedly new editor! Since you have selected this topic as your first article, do you have a link to the accounts BChakroborty62B or Bimalendu Chakraborty? If so, you must tell us. You said we not agree [sic]; who is "we"? It seems likely that you have an undeclared conflict of interest; if you don't, write about something else instead. Your supposed article was a collection of cherry-picked quotes telling us how wonderful he is, with no attempt to show how he meets notability guidelines for authors). It was just a promo for him and his books. I've protected the page because it's only been used to repeatedly promote him and his books. A genuine article can be written as a draft, followed by a request to lift protection. @Slatersteven: for info Jimfbleak - talk to me? 06:43, 7 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
There can always be a change of notability, after all Donald Trump was at one time a nobody. But the problem is that (at least) 3 times this article has been recreated. Each time with more or less the same result. I shall repeat what I said on the now deleted article talk page.
All of the sources seemed to be talking about a book he had co-authored (and with input form at least one other person). This makes him no more notable then the other author(s), and implies it is the book (not either author) which is notable.Slatersteven (talk) 09:16, 7 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Slatersteven:, and nothing to suggest that they meet WP:Notability (books) anyway. The fact that a book exists doesn't necessarily make it notable. The books are all linked to a sales site too Jimfbleak - talk to me? 13:26, 7 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I thought there had been a couple of reviews, but as I said this only implies the book is notable, not that it is. We would need to see a draft and then access the sourcing.Slatersteven (talk) 13:28, 7 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Slatersteven:, and in any case, there is no place for book reviews in what is supposed to be a biography Jimfbleak - talk to me? 13:32, 7 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Well there is for a writer, the issue is all three was were reviews of one book. As I said all this meant was the book might have been notable, the author was not.Slatersteven (talk) 13:45, 7 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Dear Jimfbleak, one only has to type out "Protected pages from creation" (as your notice put up displays) on Google to understand Wiki policies. To answer the other question, we meant the three of us - Jimfbleak, Slatersteven and me. I do not know who the other people you mentioned are. I completely get @Slatersteven:'s point of notability about the book and not either of the author's, which is being made in good faith. And yes, let us get reminded of the fact that we are all here in a spirit of good faith, to correct each other in a democratic way, and not to attack. Acts such as indefinite protections only gives out a spirit of bad faith which I hope we (and certainly I) will abstain from. As far as the article about the author is concerned, I understood your arguments, and only take them as suggestions from senior editors to junior ones. I agree that Arghya Bose is non admissible. However, in situations as ambiguous and trivial as this, I maintain that indefinite protection is a sign of bad faith.

Thank you Jimfbleak, and more so, @Slatersteven: for keeping up the Wiki spirit of good faith :)
