This is an old revision of this page, as edited by Snapdragon630 (talk | contribs) at 13:56, 16 January 2020 (Originator of phrase "Five cent psychiatrist"). The present address (URL) is a permanent link to this revision, which may differ significantly from the current revision.

The link for Joey Adams gets redirected to Joey Lauren Adams, a talented actress born in 1968. I do not think she is the Borscht Belt comedian who was inducted into the Friars Club in 1977 and wrote the book Borscht Belt in 1973. Did the redirect from Joey Adams to Joey Lauren Adams wipe out a previous article on the older Joey Adams? Or, was there never a Wikipedia article on the Borscht Belt comedian Joey Adams? r3 22:04, 1 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

That's an awfully generous 'B'

The only reference cited is a blog which is heavily biased in favor of Morgan's anti-sponsor, and later, anti-American views. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 208.127.59.57 (talk) 22:53, 23 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Originator of phrase "Five cent psychiatrist"

Henry Morgan is the originator of the phrase "five cent psychiatrist" which persists to today via Charles Schultz's "Peanuts". See the article "Henry Morgan: Kidding of silly commercials wins him fame on new network show" from "Life" magazine, October 14, 1946 page 129:

One of Morgan's favorite sayings is, "What America needs is a good five-cent psychiatrist."
