Kis Ki Aayegi Baraat or Baraat Series is a four-part Pakistani comedy television series developed by Marina Khan and Nadeem Beyg for Geo Entertainment. It is loosely based on the marriage ceremonies took place in a family of Punjabis in Punjab, and stars Bushra Ansari as a comical woman named Saima Chaudhry alongwith Saba Hameed, Javed Shaikh and Shehryar Zaidi in lead roles. The series has received generally positive reviews from critics.

The series firt-part, titles as Azar Ki Ayegi Baraat, was premiered on November 30, 2009. This was followed by Dolly ki Ayegi Baraat in 2010, Takkay Ki Ayegi Baraat in 2011 and aired its final part, titled as Annie Ki Ayegi Baraat in 2012. Due to its high ratings, the series has been re-aired several times by the channel, and has also been aired in India on the channel Zindagi, where also it had garnered positive reviews.[1] This serial was telecast on India's Zindagi channel in 2015.[2] The series has emerged as a cult series over the years.

Development and Production

After success of Azar Ki Ayegi Baraat, Evernew Productions produced its sequel Dolly Ki Ayegi Baraat. This time Vasay Chaudhry co written the series with Syed Mohammad Ahmed who wrote the previous series. It is first time when Vasay written script for any series. The character of Sila was later replaced by Ayesha Omar in this series. In August 2018, news came out that Bushra Ansari has offered to write the script of next Baraat series, however this was never confirmed by the actress.
