She identifies as an Irish-American?

Do we have a source that can back that up! I'm sure it was just added because of her fiancee being Irish. It doesn't work that way!198.11.218.38 (talk) 18:06, 2 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Misleading statement

Currently there is this in the Friends section: "According to the Guinness Book of World Records (2005), Cox (along with her female costars) became the highest paid TV actress of all time with her US$1 million-per-episode paycheck for the final two seasons of Friends." It's rather misleading, since Helen Hunt was the first $1,000,000 an episode actress the 3 years before during the last season of Mad About You. __209.179.0.121 (talk) 04:00, 11 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

King Edward II and William the Conqueror are too old for mentioning genealogic links here

The article as of today says « On the Season 9 premiere episode of the American genealogy documentary show Who Do You Think You Are?, it was discovered that Cox is descended from several key players involved in the deposing and likely murder of King Edward II of England, and also a direct descendant of William the Conqueror (her 26x great-grandfather) ».

However Courteney Cox was born in 1964, King Edward II's assassination was in 1327, William the Conqueror died in 1087.

So (assuming 30 years for a generation, which is probably much longer than average reality), at the time of Courteney Cox birth, the descent of King Edward II was about 2 millions people (1964-1327=637 years, 637/30 = 21 generations, 2^21=2 millions), and the descent of William the Conqueror was about 500 millions. The multiple descendants would lessen these figures but not that much. So the genealogic link to King Edward II is not so significant (2 millions shared it in 1964, 8 millions in 2017), and the link to William the Conqueror could be seen simply as irrelevant.

Notice that e.g. King Henry VIII having died much nearer from us (1547), his descent was only 8,000 people in 1964 (30,000 in 2017), hence a genealogic link to him would be much more meaningful. Michel Merlin (talk) 23:23, 11 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Update her Wikipedia Page

I was watching the Celebrity Escape Room TV special and Jack Black said someone should update her Wikipedia page and went here to see if someone did and noticed no one has yet, so will someone edit it. CarverSindile (talk) 04:11, 23 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
