1. I add an article about the explanation of the book <Mozi>, which includes the philosophy of the philosopher Mozi. 2. Week7 / Add a Citation and Contribute to One Article / Shangyingsun
In this week, I chose the article of Taobao, it is very famous in China. I found this article shows content that is written like an advertisement. I read the article detailing, here might need more information on this article, so I add a citation on the "Ali pay" to let more people know what it is. From this week, I understand that wikipedia's article need more person to correct it or add more information on some article, this small change will help people to learn more things about each article and avoid misunderstanding. 1.Summary: Gustave Le Bon illustrated how individuals are influenced by the ideas and emotions spread by the crowd. When people have the same psychological appeal, it is possible to form a group. When individuals form a group, they will have the psychological characteristics of mental decline, impulsiveness, and self-confidence. I changed three references to this article. Since this is an introduction to Gustave Le Bon's theory, the original text written by Gustave Le Bon will be more convincing than quoting others' summary of his theory. Therefore, I use the original sources rather than secondary sources in this article.
2.The link to difference is https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:MobileDiff/985326335
3. After this process, I think crowd psychology is a complex system theory, and its knowledge is very important for senior managers. Even for ordinary people, we have to be a little wary of public opinion in our daily lives, because public opinion does not always represent rationality, and sometimes it may be irresponsible. Ywrhea (talk) 09:31, 25 October 2020 (UTC)
- Ywrhea, Beyond adding a citation alone, make sure to provide a sentence or two to express your contribution in context (which the citation will support) to demonstrate how it adds to the knowledge in the article. Citations alone do not add value. Please add a sentence or two to explain what the citation adds and the ping me again here when done. FULBERT (talk) 19:31, 26 October 2020 (UTC)

Link to the first article: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Norilsk&type=revision&diff=985397673&oldid=985178183
In this article, it mentions the impact of industrial pollution on residents’ life expectancy. While it only says that the local life expectancy is ten years below the average of Russia, I added the life expectancy of Russia in number and another comparison against the life expectancy of the U.S.
Link to the second article: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=IFRS_17&type=revision&diff=985399631&oldid=970496983
In this article, it talks about a new accounting standard designated for insurance companies. It does not have a great amount of details regarding the scope of application of the IFRS 17. More specifically, what kind of insurance and reinsurance contracts would be applicable for the new standard. The report from Deloitte illustrated the details and list of applicable contracts under the new standard. Martinmadison (talk) 19:00, 25 October 2020 (UTC)

Week 8/ Add Citations to 2 Articles/ Shawnboom
There are two articles we have to choose from this week. The first article is "Youth Suicide", why I chose this topic is after watching the social dilemma through Netflix. In the social dilemma, it talks a lot about the bad effect on people by AI and I am focused on the youth or adolescents part, so I searched this article want to know more and shows a lot of reason make adolescents want to suicide except the affection of cyber, so I add one point in this article. And here is the difference link: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Youth_suicide&type=revision&diff=985768826&oldid=980029687 Here is the second article I chose "Regulation of artificial intelligence", why I chose this topic is continued above, I really want to know the law, rules, and regulation of AI and I found seems like they really want to make AI more reliable but it's really hard to summarize and define what crimes are brought by AI. So I add my short opinion, here is the difference link: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Regulation_of_artificial_intelligence&type=revision&diff=985775059&oldid=985723868 --ShawnBoom (talk) 21:53, 27 October 2020 (UTC)

Week 6 / Add a Citation and Contribute to One Article / Bbbzhu
This week the article I edited is about online video analytics. Here's the difference link. During the finding of the article process, I learned that WikiProjects is a good place to go to. I could look up the grid to find low or mid importance articles with start or stub class quality, which needs more work on content improvement and reference to reliable sources. Then I could start with researching topics I am familiar with, and then find reliable sources to fill the knowledge gap. --Bbbzhu (talk) 03:18, 28 October 2020 (UTC)
Week 7 / Contribute to One More Article/ Bbbzhu
This week I edited the cloud gaming Wiki page. Here's the difference link. I found that it is more satisfying to try to find a topic that I'm interested in. Already have some knowledge on the topic gives me a huge advantage so that I won't need to start reading about the most basics to understand it for research. Some of the content on the Wiki page can be old and out dated especially in the internet and technology areas. We as editors can do a lot to help keep those pages current. --Bbbzhu (talk) 03:58, 28 October 2020 (UTC)

The link of difference to the first article: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Financial_technology&type=revision&diff=986089775&oldid=986082072 In this article, I've added a sentence to explain blockchain's main feature to make the logic much more smoothly.
The link of difference to the second article:https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Cryptocurrency&type=revision&diff=986091695&oldid=985711351 In this article, I found the token section gives misunderstanding about token and cryptocurrency, so I explained the differences among those two terms with a high-quality resources.
In this week, one of my edit was revert and it talks about I had violate the wiki copy-right policy, and funny thing is I don't even know how's that considered as plagiarism, if I write in my own words and labeled citations. Got me confused lol :)--八路军被服厂李厂长 (talk) 19:04, 29 October 2020 (UTC)

Week 8/ Add Citations to 2 Articles/ 燕京赵大知识分子
This week I read an article about business informatics and another one about applied research. The motivation is from a movie I watched today about how advanced software and hardware systems in the future change the way businesses operate and eventually become monopolies based on superior algorithms. The movie also has scenes of applied research in a lab to solve issues for the company. I've noticed that a number of citations are missing for more "general term" articles, so it'd be helpful to find more sources.

Growth team updates #15
Welcome to the fifteenth newsletter from the Growth team!
The Growth team's objective is to work on software changes that help retain new contributors in mid-size Wikimedia projects.
Variants C and D deployed
Variants C and D are two new arrangements of the newcomer homepage. We hope they will increase the number of users using suggested edits. They both make suggested edits the clear place where newcomers should get started on the page. They have some differences in their workflows, because we want to test which design is better. We deployed these variants on October 19; half of newcomers get each variant. After about 5 weeks, we will analyze the data from the tests. The goal is to determine which variant is helping more newcomers to make more suggested edits. We will identify the better variant and then use it with all newcomers.
Structured tasks: add a link
As we discussed in previous newsletters, the team is working on our first "structured task": the "add a link" task. After community discussion on design ideas, we ran user tests on the mobile designs. We decided on the design concept we want to use moving forward: Concept A. We're now engineering the backend for this feature. Next, we will be running user tests for desktop designs.
Learn more about the findings.
Community news
- We recently deployed the Growth features to Polish, Portuguese, Swedish and Turkish Wikipedias. 18 wikis now have Growth features. Learn more about getting the features.

1. I add different citations to the two articles. The first one analyzes the determinants of divestiture at specific industry and company level, the financial and organizational impact of divestiture, and then summarizes the integration of decentralized divestiture knowledge. The second one mainly discusses the long-term performance of divestiture and equity divestiture, and finds that the choice of divestiture method has an important impact on the long-term performance after divestiture. 2. Link to differences are (1) https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special :MobileDiff/986556414 (2) https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special :MobileDiff/986558092 3. I am surprised to find that even for academic topics, sometimes the completion of corresponding articles on Wikipedia is relatively poor. There are no corresponding references for many concepts and explanations. In addition, the arrangement of article structure is not reasonable. Therefore, we need to improve them with more literatures we have read. Ywrhea (talk) 16:39, 1 November 2020 (UTC)
