Mhairi Fraser (born 1987 or 1988) is a British politician and lawyer.

Early life

Mhairi Fraser was born in 1987 or 1988.[1]

She received an MA (Hons) in English Literature at the University of Edinburgh.[2] She later received a GDL and LPC at the BPP Law School.[2] She has lived in Epsom since 2007 where initially worked in a local pub.[3]

Career

Fraser has worked as a parliamentary assistant for Damian Hinds and Greg Hands.[3] She stood for Epsom West for the Conservatives in the 2013 Surrey County Council election but was defeated placing last.[4][5] Fraser later stood as the Conservative candidate in Coatbridge, Chryston, and Belshill in the 2015 general election but was defeated placing third.[3][6]

Fraser travelled to the United States immediately preceding the 2016 United States presidential election to watch the results come in, and to support Donald Trump.[1] She said of him: "I just find him incredibly refreshing and I think he genuinely loves America".[1] She has worked as an anti-corruption and fraud solicitor for White & Case since 2017.[4][3]

On 17 January 2024, Fraser was selected as the Conservative Party's prospective parliamentary candidate for the safe seat of Epsom and Ewell.[4] She was considered an underdog candidate against two other short-listed candidates, Ed McGuiness and Mario Creatura.[3] Fraser was endorsed by outgoing Epsom and Ewell MP Chris Grayling and said she is a "very impressive and determined woman and I think if elected, will make an excellent constituency MP".[4]

Personal life

Fraser has lived in Epsom and Ewell since 2007 and has three siblings.[4]
