The cover of the first DVD compilation released by Studio Pierrot.

This is a list of episodes of the anime series Naruto: Shippūden. The episodes are directed by Hayato Date and produced by Studio Pierrot and TV Tokyo.[1] They are based on Part II of the Naruto manga series by Masashi Kishimoto and have thus far adapted the first through sixth volumes of the series over fifty-nine episodes. Naruto: Shippūden is a continuation of the Naruto manga series by Kishimoto, and continues the same storyline after the passing of two and a half years in the fictional Naruto universe. The episodes began airing on February 15, 2007 and have all been shown on TV Tokyo in Japan.[1]

Eight pieces of theme music are used for the episodes; three opening themes and five ending themes. The opening themes are "Hero's Come Back!!" by J-pop group nobodyknows+, used for the first 34 episodes, "distance" by LONG SHOT PARTY, used until episode 53, and BLUE BIRD by Ikimono-gakari. The five ending themes are "Nagareboshi ~Shooting Star~" (流れ星 ~Shooting Star~) by Home Made Kazoku for the first eighteen episodes, Alüto's "Michi ~ to you all" (道 ~to you all, lit. Path ~ to you all), used for the next twelve episodes, and "Kimi monogatari" (キミモノガタリ, lit. Your Story) by little by little, which is for episodes 31 to 41, "Mezamero! Yasei" (目覚めろ!野性, lit. Awaken! Wild) by MATCHY with QUESTION?, which is used from Episodes 42 until 53, and Sunao na Niji by SURFACE. [2]

A featured movie, Naruto: Shippūden the Movie, based on the Naruto: Shippūden series, was released on August 4, 2007.[3] Episodes 24 through 27 included scenes from the movie in both the opening and ending themes, while still retaining the original music.
