Article needs some work. The BSA picked up the idea of commissioners from the UK Scout Association. Also, AFAIK, most of the early National Scout Commissioners, other then Beard, only lasted a year or so. Will have to check my copy of Murray tonight. --Emb021 19:49, 26 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

If you can fill in those blank dates that would be great. --Gadget850 ( Ed) 20:18, 26 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:BSACommissioner.jpg

Image:BSACommissioner.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 00:42, 1 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I just provided it the FU rationale.Rlevse 01:36, 1 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Name of this article

I think this article should be renamed to Commissioner Service (Boy Scouts of America) as it is a specific BSA article and Commissioners are found all over the Scouting world. I am also not convinced that this is of high importance for the Scouting Project - maybe Mid importance. --Bduke (Discussion) 05:35, 4 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

  • @Bduke: now may be the time to make that change. Do you have content for the rest of the world? --evrik (talk) 23:35, 24 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • @Evrik: I agree that now is the time to make the change, but I suggest someone from the US makes it. Can the rename be made by someone who is not an admin? I gave up my admin hat a few months ago, as I am not that reliable in my old age.--Bduke (talk) 23:46, 24 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Restructuring

@Drmies: Before you start slashing the article, please discuss the problems here. If you want to tag problematic sections or passages, please do so so we can focus on your areas of concern. --evrik (talk) 23:34, 24 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • evrik, no need to be passive-aggressive--passive in your pretense about my concerns (primary sourcing, unencyclopedic content, no notability in the broader world, etc.), and aggressive in reverting it anyway. You know perfectly well that Wikipedia should not be a mirror for the BSA, and that if it weren't for COI editors much of this material (and many of these articles) would have been deleted or redirected a long time ago.
