Requested move 22 April 2024

De Blasio (surname)De Blasio – I moved the redirect De Blasio from Bill de Blasio to de Blasio. I understand that a New York City major is an important politician in USA, but this Italian surname is not rare and there are some "encyclopedial" persons in Italian wiki. And also Antonio De Blasio MrKeefeJohn (talk) 07:39, 22 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

  • I've restored the redirect since at present there is no reason for changing it. With only one other existing article about an obscure European politician, a hatnote is sufficient. The existence of some other stuff on another wiki has no bearing here. Note that a comparison of page views is far beyond overwhelming. olderwiser 10:51, 22 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose per older/wiser. Adding in long-term significance, a search for "de blasio" -author:"de blasio" on Google Books and Scholar shows results almost entirely about the mayor. Hameltion (talk | contribs) 21:53, 22 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
