Tick, Tick... Boom! (styled as tick, tick... Boom!) is an upcoming American musical drama film directed by Lin-Manuel Miranda in his feature directorial debut, based on the semi-autobiographical musical of the same name by Jonathan Larson. It stars Andrew Garfield, Alexandra Shipp, Vanessa Hudgens, Robin de Jesús, Joshua Henry, Judith Light and Bradley Whitford. The film is set to be released on Netflix in 2021.[1]
Premise
An aspiring theatre composer endures a midlife crisis as he approaches 30 and does not feel close to his dream.

Production
It was announced in July 2018 that Lin-Manuel Miranda would make his directorial debut with the musical adaptation, with Imagine Entertainment producing and Dear Evan Hansen's Steven Levenson penning the script.[2]
In June 2019, Netflix had acquired the film, with Andrew Garfield the top choice to star.[3] He would be confirmed to star in October, with Alexandra Shipp, Vanessa Hudgens and Robin de Jesús joining in November.[4][5] Joshua Henry, Judith Light and Bradley Whitford would join in January 2020.[6]
In January 2020, it was also announced that choreographer Ryan Heffington would be working on the film.[7]
Principal photography began in March 2020.[8][9] In April 2020, filming had shut down due to the COVID-19 pandemic.[10] Production resumed in October 2020.[11] Filming wrapped in November 2020.[12]
