Re:CSV

Nichalp, The input file is the CSV file. You will have to enter the column headers in the CSV file. This allows for the headers to be user-defined. You can call them whatever you want (with the ## symbols) and use them many times in the text of the article. Use a simple text file to start with; check if you can open it in Notepad. I could not try it on a linux machine yet. So, just now, I was trying commenting out LWP etc. which I don't have on this machine and using print statements. What I see is that $currentfile is not defined.

One minor change is needed as shown here.

District template

I am not sure I understand what you are trying to do here. My guess is you are trying to create table of district values. If this is case, there is no need for variables in the template. I was able understand your implementation now. It is kind of similar to how archivebox works. For the commas to show up, you will need to use formatnum function (it was used on WP:IIJ). You can see it in action at Ganeshk/sandbox7 that uses the template, Ganeshk/sandbox6. Can you update your Perl program to render the lines with the formatnum on them? Concerning In Africa

I understand where you come from, but my actions stem, I think, from a few fundamental differences in outlook from your entirely legitimate stance on this. For one matter, nobody is ever forced to post a page before it is ready to stand on its own two legs. In my experience, far more often than not, a page that starts out a ramshackle and unfeasible mess tends to stay that way. If someone is concerned about their page being deleted before they've bolstered it enough to be more deletion-proof, nobody twisted their arm to jump the gun on it. You have a point on unclarity toward newbies, but the template itself (on the page and on the author's talk page) sums up the problem and what to do about it pretty directly and thoroughly. I'll be more than happy to provide this user a link to a lil' essay page I threw together, WP:DELNOM, which contains some advice geared toward new users who are facing page deletion nominations. If you think that essay is worth a darn, you're welcome and encouraged to refer others to it. Anyway, thanks for communicating your views on this to me! I see the legitimacy in your rebuttal, and you've made some solid points I'll definitely be contemplating. However, the unfortunate truth of how a lot of "junk" articles stay junk isn't really ameliorated by anyone's "disappointment". We see a lot of rags-to-riches stories with articles (to really twist a metaphor half to death here), but often, if it's not even clear what someone was doing and/or there's no apparent info available, nobody can expand on the subject, and when the original author doesn't appear poised to do so either, there's not much left to do. Of course, giving more time would appear to be your answer to this, and I see how that's probably preferable. Hi Nichalp, I've fixed the formatting bug in INRConvert. Please let me know if the issue still persists. BTW, didn't know you did Perl programming too...I can code in a bunch of languages (almost all self-taught), but I gave up halfway trying to teach myself Perl out of sheer frustration :) Looking forward to seeing what your script does...do let me know when it's ready.

Script

Wow!! Very useful tool...I was looking for something like this to upload images when I was on a mass Dubai-related article creation drive. One thing I noticed in the log was that it was recursing the "Description" section several times for some images, but not on others. Looking to the future, one idea I had was when all bugs are ironed out, we can create a HTML front-end to this on the toolserver...that way users can just obtain the CSV file, add data to it, and then just upload that one file. Haha! I'm very tempted now to get into the act myself and write some scripts. I'll need a few weeks to "re-learn" Perl though, since it's been so long. The HTML front-end was just a thought...matter of fact, it's probably better without the front end. Front-ending it would make it too user friendly and would put a tremendous burden on system resources, with hundreds of images being uploaded simultaneously. Can you direct me to the noticeboard where this has to be discussed ? For now, is it okay if we include native names as mentioned in the beginning of each states individual article ? North East addition to history

I changed 2 things from your edit,

1. 1)The Ahoms were clearly in the North East, East India would mean Bengal which was under Mughal control.
2. 2)The Twipras although significant for their longevity and their current relevance[6], do not figure as prominently as the Ahoms since the Ahoms directly confronted the Mughals and ruled over a larger kingdom. Well, at first glance, I can tell you that the article is in error regarding the etymology of the toponym "Bombaim", insisting on a thesis ("Bom Bahia") that has no basis on onomastic sources (and doesn't make sense to Portuguese speakers, I assure you). History of Mumbai

Thankyou for your kind words. If you check the article, I have developed 4 sections now. Ancient Era, Medieval Era, Portuguese era, and 21st century. What bothers me is that the portuguese period just speaks of churches. I am planning to start the most important sections British Era and Post-independence era soon. Please keep on adding Images.
