Witnesses

I think you can move it to mainspace now. I've added significant amount of stuff. I suggest the article title should be "Witnesses and testimonies of the Armenian Genocide"...some redirect should apply as well...for example, "Witnesses of the Armenian Genocide" should be redirected. Also, don't forget to add it to the Armenian Genocide template. Proudbolsahye (talk) 21:25, 30 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

August 2013

Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to Armenian population by urban areas may have broken the syntax by modifying 1 "{}"s. If you have, don't worry, just edit the page again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page.

List of unpaired brackets remaining on the page:
  • {| class="wikitable plainrowheaders sortable" style="font-size:100%;width:100%"

ANI comment

For a moment, you had the higher ground. Now it's you who is promising to revert, and not just him. It's better for you to agree not to continue the dispute until you get outside opinion. EdJohnston (talk) 16:32, 1 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Unlike him, dear EdJohnston, I'm open to any discussion. --Երևանցի talk 16:34, 1 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Promising to revert puts you down at the same level as him. This will count against you if admins need to decide what to do. It's not advisable to get into a 'who can be the stupidest' contest. EdJohnston (talk) 16:44, 1 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Sure it's not. The guy has been acting the worst possible way and the admins are trying to keep some kind of "neutrality" I guess. I should probably leave the arena to users like him who can arbitrarily change the infobox of an ethnic group article and refuse to discuss anything and still not be blocked. Makes perfect sense to me. Maybe you guys need like 5 days to make a decision. Take your time man. --Երևանցի talk 16:49, 1 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Don't get me wrong

I haven't say all or even most Armenians claim Babak is their, just little part (I saw it on Talkpage, some kid perhaps). Btw I don't agree with your conclusion that Armenian is by deafult "Apostolic Christian", Tigranes wasn't one. :) --HistorNE (talk) 19:24, 6 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

LOL you claim to fight against "ultra-nationalism", though you assume things on the comments of "some kid". Really? Tigranes the Great lived in 1st century BC. Christianity was adopted in 301 AD. Every Armenian after that date is a Christian and that's not my conclusion, it's a historic fact. --Երևանցի talk 19:31, 6 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Well considering comment I guess he's around 15. :) I don't fight actually, I collect them as other people post stamps. Some of my favorites from ex-Yugoslav region is that Alexander the Great is Slavic Macedonian, Christopher Columbus is Croat and Virgin Mary is Serb. Such funny claims are based on "analizes" by local "scholars", but fortunately not so accepted to keep them on national Wikipedias. I'm not sure how Armenian Wikipedia stands with own similar issues, but I must say Azerbaijani is complete disaster - just take a look at their template History of Azerbaijan: representative photo is victory of Naram-Sin Akkadian against tribes from Luristan in 23 century BC. After seeing such nonsense I feel bigger Armenian then you are, despite not being Apostolic Christian. :) --HistorNE (talk) 20:13, 6 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not going to comment the Azerbaijani historiography, because my country and Azerbaijan are in a state of war and everything I say here will be used against me. I don't think claims such as the Alexander the Great one being a Slav should not even be talked about. Any guy who is a little familiar with ancient history should know that he is part of the Greek civilization, not Slavic. --Երևանցի talk 20:44, 6 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The Special Barnstar
For your countless high-quality additions of articles related to Armenia and Armenian history. Keep up the good work! Cheers, Antidiskriminator (talk) 20:00, 6 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you very much! I appreciate it.--Երևանցի talk 20:03, 6 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I'm sorry that you had to deal with that. DYK has been very odd lately with long arguments about whether "woman" professor or "female" professor should be used, pulling an article from the prep area that was approved on July 16 just because of one editor's opinion about a hook, excessive nitpicking, and your nomination as well. Orlady could have simply removed "highly" and now because of that, the nomination sat there for days until I noticed it. SL93 (talk) 01:46, 7 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I don't even know what to say. Perhaps some people don't like when things go smooth, I guess. --Երևանցի talk 01:52, 7 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Armenian help needed

Hello Yerevanci, I'm contacting you because we need some Armenian translators to help with the deployment of the new VisualEditor on hy.wikipedia. There are help pages, user guides, and description pages that need translating, as well as the interface itself. The translating work is going on over on MediaWiki: Translation Central. I also need assistance with a personal message for the Armenian Wikipedians. If you are able to help in any way, either reply here, or head over to TranslationCentral. Thanks for your time, PEarley (WMF) (talk) 16:50, 17 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I've been busy lately. Yes, just let me know how I can help you. --Երևանցի talk 21:16, 18 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Yerevanci, great! We're making some progress on translating the actual VisualEditor interface text into Armenian, but there's still some cleanup to be done. Here's where the magic happens: Translatewiki.net - Armenian.
The help documents haven't been started, though, and they are quite important. If you could do any work on the user guide or the FAQ, it would be very useful to the hy.wikipedians when VE is rolled out. Just click "translate this page" above the header to get started.
