Apologies

I am so sorry for accusing you of vandalism on the noticeboard (which I deleted). I confused you with the disruptive editor. CLCStudent (talk) 16:11, 12 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

No worries, just glad that someone else noticed the issue with the Philadelphia page and responded to it, I was kind of all alone out there for a bit, appreciate the help, cheers.2604:2000:8FC0:4:617F:E9A7:AF1C:4546 (talk) 16:15, 12 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

August 2019

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, please note that there is a Manual of Style that should be followed to maintain a consistent, encyclopedic appearance. Deviating from this style disturbs uniformity among articles and may cause readability or accessibility problems. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Do not bold city names in lists unless it is an exact match for the title. Please be especially mindful if the list is already of featured quality. SounderBruce 01:26, 13 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

If this is a shared IP address, and you did not make the edits referred to above, consider creating an account for yourself or logging in with an existing account so that you can avoid further irrelevant notices.
In case you check this first, my question is on your talk page, it would help if you were more specific instead of using templates in the future, cheers. 2604:2000:8FC0:4:617F:E9A7:AF1C:4546 (talk) 02:09, 13 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, I'm Everedux. I wanted to let you know that I reverted one of your recent contributions —specifically this edit to Edmund J. Pendleton— because it did not appear constructive. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you have any questions, you can ask for assistance at the Help desk. Thanks. Everedux (talk) 21:02, 18 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Ya, you misclicked, I already reverted it. 2604:2000:8FC0:4:617F:E9A7:AF1C:4546 (talk) 21:04, 18 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Guakh archipelago

Hi, you are mistaken, the current editor has been edit warring on the The Gulag Archipelago article all the way back since August. Please see the revision history of the article during the August period to verify my claims. Thank you. 80.111.44.144 (talk) 21:19, 18 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Understood, I will look into it, in the mean time it is OK if you revert it as long as it is to an even further back revision, sorry I didn't look into it further, and thanks for your understanding.2604:2000:8FC0:4:617F:E9A7:AF1C:4546 (talk) 21:22, 18 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

And thanks to you as well, I can't say I've ever seen a barnstar awarded to an IP before, but I greatly appreciate the support. 2604:2000:8FC0:4:617F:E9A7:AF1C:4546 (talk) 20:39, 23 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

B0b gets them a lot. I am curious though as to what we should call you if you're established enough to have gotten a barnstar. If you don't already have a name, I'd love to propose one. (please ping on reply)MJLTalk 21:07, 12 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@MJL: I'm hardly only one who edits from here so I can't take all the credit. This is the public computer at a hostel, and Wikipedia is not for advertising so I won't say anymore other than the geolocate isn't exactly correct. So a few of the regulars edit Wikipedia, I didn't start it, I thought I was done with Wikipedia forever, but I just got dragged back in after repeatedly giving advice to others. Anyway I wouldn't exactly say it's a thing here but enough people do it where this address will become active from time to time, or at least until the owner changes the service plan. This is a rare static IPV6 address because this ancient computer is still hardwired, and the wifi is on a different range. Anyway I don't think anyone will mind a name in fact it might be welcomed, and thanks for your support. 2604:2000:8FC0:4:617F:E9A7:AF1C:4546 (talk) 21:20, 12 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding User:ECWAmarketing, if you see something that blatant, rather than initiating a discussion it's better to just report it to WP:UAA. A username like that needs blocking, the sooner the better. That being the case (and to avoid any confusion) I removed the template you left and replaced it with a blocking template. Normally the discuss template is for mild stuff that's more in the realm of a questionable username as opposed to one that obviously violates policy. Beeblebrox (talk) 00:55, 25 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Understood, my policy has been to be cautious and very deferential to new users thus far, but when I see something similiar in the future I will report it right away, thanks for the information. 2604:2000:8FC0:4:617F:E9A7:AF1C:4546 (talk) 02:56, 25 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Peacock template.

Hello,

I'm trying to correct the issue that is causing the peacock template, "This article contains wording that promotes the subject in a subjective manner without imparting real information. Please remove or replace such wording and instead of making proclamations about a subject's importance, use facts and attribution to demonstrate that importance."

I had thought that I had corrected the sentence that may be causing this template to show. I had forgotten to submit a reason (sorry about that, I'm new). I've since submitted a reason but don't want to remove the template if I have not correctly addressed the issue. Can you help point out the issue or any next steps I can take? Thanks for your help!

Synthetik5 (talk) 16:10, 22 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Give me a few minutes to look it over, I understand that people forget to add an edit summary from time to time no big deal; the message I left was just a reminder for future reference. 2604:2000:8FC0:4:617F:E9A7:AF1C:4546 (talk) 16:14, 22 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Can you show me where in either source the claim is supported, the second source has no direct commentary on the issue and in the first it merely reads that "Brown said, his team is ready to retry the nearly 20-year-old case", thanks. 2604:2000:8FC0:4:617F:E9A7:AF1C:4546 (talk) 16:22, 22 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

A little help

This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who accepted the request.

Request reason:

I'm pretty sure reverting vandalism is an exception to the three revert rule, see User_talk:100.11.14.2 and [1] which started this all, and more recently this which shows the activity was deliberate introduction of errors, also can someone get over to AIV there's like a four hour backlog there now, thank you.

Accept reason:

I am going to unblock you, based on the fact that you were fixing incorrect information, and you have a source to prove it. However, if you ever find yourself in this situation again, please consider that the admin who shows up, sees a full page of history worth of edit warring, and knows nothing about professional boxing, might have seen this as a content dispute, rather than a case of obvious vandalism. It might take longer, but put that in your edit summary - "Reverting vandalism, the fight was called a TKO per <link>" - so it doesn't just look like you're both going ham with the revert button. Thanks,

Kiddy grade

Hello, I'm the guy Destiny Element but had to change my name to FireWallDragon because Wikipedia couldn't remember my password (I'm new to wikipedia) I added the Controversy under kiddy Grade because I've been following the Vic Mignogna lawsuit and it was about 2 months ago it was discovered Colleen had accused Sabat of humilating her during her recording sessions on Kiddy Grade. She says it on video, this information comes directly from Colleen herself.

I ask politely if we can leave the subject on Kiddy Grade because Chris Sabat has been facing a lot of accusations lately, and Colleen's story backs up these claims. Especially when her story has been around since 2016. — Preceding unsigned comment added by FireWallDragon (talkcontribs) 09:42, 29 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hello User:FireWallDragon this is a shared IP address, and the person who gave you that message has unfortunately left, actually we had a tag team working here for a short bit. I am not as knowledgeable about Wikipedia, but I do understand that for legal reasons there are strict rules when it comes to biographies of living people, so read the policy link here, and if you think you've followed it then re-add the information which should be stored in the page history. Also you can always place {{Help me}} on your own talk page and someone will come along to help you, have a pleasant day. 2604:2000:8FC0:4:617F:E9A7:AF1C:4546 (talk) 13:19, 29 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hello sorry for the late reply. I don't know if you have been following the Vic Mignogna situation but to make it short: Vic was accused of "inappropriate behaviour" and was fired from Funimation. Ironically Vic's accusers have yet to bring evidence to back up their claims and that's why Vic filed a lawsuit. Also ironic is fans finding actual evidence on Chris Sabat as the real sexual predator. I can link to you when Colleen Clinckenbeard came forward with her story on Sabat: AFO 09: Colleen Clinkenbeard Panel. Check it out and let me know what you think. — Preceding unsigned comment added by FireWallDragon (talkcontribs) 13:50, 31 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hello again, User:FireWallDragon unfortunately your link isn't working, so I was unable to look. That aside, if you have a reference that satisfies the requirements then the information can probably be added, to be honest you're better off asking for help at the Teahouse or placing {{Help me}} on your own talkpage and chatting with someone experienced, have a nice day. 2604:2000:8FC0:4:617F:E9A7:AF1C:4546 (talk) 03:55, 4 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I posted the title because I heard actual links don't work but maybe that's for the comment section on Youtube only. Hopefully the actual video link for the source works. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tz_-3-RRKhk&t=155s The timestamp is 23:18. I appreciate tips on how to start up my own wikipedia talk page but to be honest I doubt if I will be able to contribute much to the website. Thanks for getting back to me, and let me know if the link to the video works. — Preceding unsigned comment added by FireWallDragon (talkcontribs) 04:30, 4 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@User:FireWallDragon Yes the url works (you can make it a link by adding [ ] around it), the problem I think is that this is a primary source, and Wikipedia strongly prefers secondary sources, still it doesn't hurt to check with the experts (Link Here) just to be sure. Even if you start small, every contribution is valued, it's probably best though to be careful and use the show preview button until you learn more. Be sure to sign your posts with ~~~~; thanks for your interest in Wikipedia! 2604:2000:8FC0:4:617F:E9A7:AF1C:4546 (talk) 04:39, 4 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
FireWallDragon, Howdy hello! Anyone can contribute to Wikipedia, and we'd be glad to have you. If you wanna know the basics, or the nuts and bolts of editing, as the helpful IP said, ask at the WP:TEAHOUSE. In terms of the Kiddy Grade article, the Youtube video is not a usable source, especially because this deals with controversial information about a living person. What we need in order to include the info is coverage by a reliable source, such as a media outlet. Captain Eek Edits Ho Cap'n! 06:34, 4 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hi again, yes the subject matter is definitely controversial though may I ask how the Youtube video with Colleen herself explaining the story isn't a reliable source? There is an article on Medium.com titled Anime Community Divided Amidst Allegations by Sarah Hamidi where it is mentioned, so if you are looking for articles specifically would this be more fitting for Wikipedia? FireWallDragon — Preceding unsigned comment added by FireWallDragon (talkcontribs) 06:39, 15 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

FireWallDragon Hello again, I didn't see you earlier and if any guests have been editing they haven't done it from this computer. The policy on what counts as reliable can be found at WP:RS, if you are confused about a particular source, you can always ask questions at WP:RSN. We do have a regular around who may edit at some time this week to keep this address active. From our brief conversation I think its just going to be to look at the big discussions to add comments so you can just watch some of those so if this address starts adding comments you can ask your question here to maybe get a quick response. 2604:2000:8FC0:4:617F:E9A7:AF1C:4546 (talk) 23:26, 9 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
