:[[User:Ferret|@Ferret]], thank you. You have set me free from my worst habit: helping out some random folks on the Internet to build some shitty encyclopedia. Those random folks who don't care about you until you stay useful and then kick you out for not licking their asses.

Women in Red 8th Anniversary

Women in Red 8th Anniversary
In July 2015 around 15.5% of the English Wikipedia's biographies were about women. As of July 2023, 19.61% of the English Wikipedia's biographies are about women. That's a lot of biographies created in the effort to close the gender gap. Happy 8th Anniversary! Join us for some virtual cake and add comments or memories and please keep on editing to close the gap!

Question from Lava Jernam (17:56, 18 August 2023)

Hello, Wikipedia says that you're my mentor and that I can ask you things. so I'm gonna ask, how i can revert an vandalism/bad edit on wiki? --Lava Jernam (talk) 17:56, 18 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Lava Jernam, reverting is easy: just use "undo" button (see wp:undo for more details). If you want more automation, you can install tools like WP:TWINKLE or WP:UV. They add a lot of buttons for quick and easy reverting edits, reporting vandals, requesting wp:revision deletion and stuff like that. a!rado – ばか (CT) 18:13, 18 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
thanks for the reply! greetings Lava Jernam (talk) 18:15, 18 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

What is with your indiscriminate removal of links to Discord or WP:Discord?

I noticed that you have removed links to Discord or WP:Discord? Why so? – robertsky (talk) 06:41, 24 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Not in reply to Robert, but for posterity sake, Arado was banned from the Wikimedia Community Discord due to posting inappropriate images of yuri on the server. With the removal of the links and this userpage edit, it can be assumed the reason was because of this ban. I will let @Ferret explain the reasoning of said ban as they were the one who did it, although I would like to add as a user and as a fan of yuri, this outburst is inappropriate and will only cause further issues rather than solve them. 123Writer talk 09:08, 24 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
For the context, last three pictures containing 2 girls (that excludes pictures of sole foxgirls, sent to foxtopic):
  1. pixivDiscord CDN - two female military officers. One is Jungwi from ROKMC, other, well, I suck at uniform identification. That picture can be considered over the top, since they are definetely going to have rather serious strategical briefing, yes? Well, for some reason it wasn't the picture I was banned for (and techically it's not explicit).
  2. [1] - Asuka Langley kissing Rei Ayanami by surprise. No nudity. Kiss in question is somewhere between "wishing homie goodnight" and "my intentions to move with you to Taiwan are somewhat serious". Only concern here is that surprise-kissing is a bit non-consensual.
  3. [2] - two girls, both fully clothed in 19th century style military uniform. One holds other on hands. No nudity (except for that parts of legs between high boots and skirt, but that's acceptable in most places since, well, last half of 20th century, right?).
So, what we have here? 2 officer ladies looking eyes to eyes a bit too passionately, mecha pilots kissing a bit too deep, and literally Andou holding literal Oshida in her literal hands.
So, where such pictures can be considered inapropriate? Something like that:
  • Catholic abbey (for monks, not nuns)
  • Southern Baptist church
  • Some areas of Poland
  • surprisingly, Wikimedia Community Discord.
Are you folks proud of yourselves?
I'm done with all those Wikipedia shit and generally with "interaction with other people on the Internets" shit. I don't care about opinions of anyone of you. May God have mercy for you all. Nh283721 (talk) 11:30, 24 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Considering the Discord server has LGBT+ admins, comparing it to traditionally-seen homophobic organizations is a bit of a reach. 123Writer talk 11:38, 24 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Regardless, whatever happened in the server does not excuse your non-constructive edits here on Wikipedia. It appears that all of your related edits have been reverted, rightly so. – robertsky (talk) 12:32, 24 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
This user has set a self-imposed block until 2420 (see diff), so I don't think there is much else to be done here. I see that Nh283721 is their alternate account, so I'll say here that if you continue this disruptive behavior through that (or any other) account, you'll likely be indeffed for WP:NOTHERE. Isabelle Belato 🏳‍🌈 12:46, 24 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
You weren't banned for the picture(s). You were banned for how you reacted and attacked moderators after you were asked to stop posting images that crossed a line of sexualization, including undergarments being visible. It doesn't matter whether you believe that's appropriate or not, you were asked to stop, which should have been simple enough to do. The Discord server has rules to avoid oversexualization of topics, and posting such images repeatedly in offtopic spaces is beyond the purpose of the server. It's not your picture that got you banned: It was your reaction. Your behavior since has only reaffirmed that this was the correct decision. -- ferret (talk) 14:05, 24 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hi there. If this behavior continues, I will indef block you for disruption, personal attacks and harassment. I don't think anything more needs said. -- ferret (talk) 13:57, 24 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Wikiproject Military history coordinator election nominations open

Nominations for the upcoming project coordinator election have opened. A team of up to ten coordinators will be elected for the next coordination year. The project coordinators are the designated points of contact for issues concerning the project, and are responsible for maintaining our internal structure and processes. They do not, however, have any authority over article content or editor conduct, or any other special powers. More information on being a coordinator is available here. If you are interested in running, please sign up here by 23:59 UTC on 14 September! Voting will commence on 15 September. If you have any questions, you can contact any member of the current coord team. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 02:04, 2 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
