A barnstar for you!

The Original Barnstar
I think your page is full of interesting information, & that the Gifs are a nice touch.

I was also hoping that you could teach me to use userboxes, if you have the time & if it's alright with you Rfkatz2005 (talk) 20:25, 15 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Is Polk County part of Orlando? Is it part of Tampa? Is it both?

Hi. I've noticed you changing the templates on several Polk County, Florida locales to Metro Orlando from Tampa Bay area. While some expansive definitions of both metro areas include Polk County, neither the US Census Bureau nor the Central Florida Development Council do. They rather include all of Polk County in the Lakeland-Winterhaven MSA. Perhaps it would be better to remove both the Orlando and Tampa templates from these cities and go with the definition provided by the government? What do you think? — Jacona (talk) 01:47, 4 January 2024 (UTC) @Jacona: I looked through all the settlements in the county, I removed almost all of the conflicting templates. Except for only two. CSD G5 speedy deletion tagging

Hello, Catfurball,

While I appreciate you spending time tagging pages created by block-evading editors, it would be even better if you could check links for every page that is a template or userbox. When you tag a userbox for speedy deletion, every editor who has that userbox on their User page has that page tagged for deletion as well. A less vigilant CSD admin patroller could easily mistakenly delete all of these User pages from innocent editors. Instead, when the page is a template or userbox, check "What links here" and remove links on those pages so that the CSD tag doesn't get transcluded. It can take a bit more time than tagging pages using Twinkle but it prevents mistaken deletions. Many thanks! Liz Read! Talk! 23:48, 11 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Also note that these don't qualify for G5 in the first place since their creation wasn't evading any specific block. * Pppery * it has begun... 23:54, 11 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Indeed, for this reason, I have declined/reverted all the CSD taggings. Complex/Rational 00:16, 12 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Oh damn, * Pppery * and ComplexRational, it looks like I screwed up. I guess I'll be spending time tonight restoring a lot of pages and reverting the CSD tagging. Liz Read! Talk! 00:24, 12 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hello, Catfurball,
You can find a list of the pages you mistakenly tagged at User:Extraordinary Writ/sandbox7. I'm untagging some but it would really help if you reverted your edits, too. That's what started this all. Thanks for any help you can supply. Liz Read! Talk! 02:19, 12 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Or you could just go into Special:Contributions/Catfurball and start from there. This is a project you should really take the lead on. Liz Read! Talk! 02:21, 12 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
These have all been taken care of now. Extraordinary Writ (talk) 04:03, 12 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there! I see that Liz above has provided a good explanation why tagging userboxes for speedy deletion isn't necessarily a great idea, so it would be great if you would refrain from doing that unless you're gonna do the necessary work to avoid that unaffiliated user pages get tagged for speedy deletion too. Regards, decltype (talk) 20:35, 1 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Decltype: No one is using the userbox. Catfurball (talk) 20:39, 1 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I don't know how you came to that conclusion. It is transcluded on the user pages User:Kuzo Pile, User:RandomMe98, User:FlutterDash344, and those pages were put in CAT:CSD (that's how I found your CSD tag). Regards, decltype (talk) 05:00, 2 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

The warning was good. But we should refrain from using the term "illegal" when what we mean is, "violates our Terms of Service." Orange Mike | Talk 21:55, 6 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Restoring a PROD

Catfurball, you used a pretty snarky edit summary when restoring a PROD tag here. If anyone removes a PROD, then the next step if AfD id deletion is to be pursued. You should not have restored the tag once Carrite removed it.-- Ponyobons mots 19:50, 13 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I'm confused by your edits here. What rules of PROD are admins not obeying? As the admin who removed the PROD, and the only admin to edit Northpine Christian College in the last couple of weeks, is your frustration directed at me?-- Ponyobons mots 22:54, 13 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
