Description: I was going to discuss the edit in the talk section before this block, but will present the same point here. Presuming my edit can be seen, I expanded on the "Urban" section to dive into a bit more detail about each of the more notable cities/towns in northern England.

I noticed the article didn't really highlight notable cities or towns in the north, or discuss their cultural distinctions. I think an attempt at this was when somebody had previously kept adding places to the "Major towns and cities" box in the top right of the article. I considered that the "Urban" section would be the best one for something like this.

Using a bit of the information already provided, what I've done is added a new sub-section. I've described it as "notable urban settlements" here rather than "major urban settlements", which I'd say is more fitting. Towns and cities with something of note aren't always synonymous with the "main" destinations, etc. A valid point was raised in the article's history that there's subjectivity when choosing which settlements to talk about. As the baseline for where would be mentioned, for now I've chosen urban settlements with roughly ten thousand or more people at the least, with the common traits between all those selected being that they're either a major urban centre of a county, or you can tangibly point to economic/cultural success stories relating to the place like continual population growth, it being a destination for tourists, having a sizeable amount of entertainment, arts and pop culture originating from there, and so on. I'd guess if any factors universally signify importance, it'd be them. Any places people disagree with, or think haven't been mentioned, can be edited accordingly. Likewise, I have no qualms with better sources being found if that's considered an issue.
