Wikipedia:Requested moves/Technical requests
If you are unable to complete a move for technical reasons, you can request technical help below. This is the correct method if you tried to move a page, but you got an error message saying something like "You do not have permission to move this page, for the following reasons:..." or "The/This page could not be moved, for the following reason:..."
If you are here because you want an admin to approve of your new article or your proposed page move, you are in the wrong place.

This will automatically insert a bullet and include your signature. Please do not edit the article's talk page.{{subst:RMassist|current page title|new title|reason=edit summary for the move}}
the - If you object to a proposal listed in the uncontroversial technical requests section, please move the request to the Contested technical requests section, append a note on the request elaborating on why, and sign with ~~~~. Consider pinging the requester to let them know about the objection.
- If your technical request is contested, or if a contested request is left untouched without reply, create a requested move on the article talk and remove the request from the section here. The fastest and easiest way is to click the "discuss" button at the request, save the talk page, and remove the entry on this page.
Technical requests
Uncontroversial technical requests
- KiKa (currently a redirect to KiKA) → KiKA (move · discuss) – The correct and common name is “KiKA” (with a capital “a”), “KiKa” is not common (at all). Headbugle (talk) 01:24, 6 April 2024 (UTC)
Requests to revert undiscussed moves
- Operation Datta Khel (currently a redirect to 1947 Gilgit rebellion) → 1947 Gilgit rebellion (move · discuss) – reverting undiscussed move, inappropriate new name. Kautilya3 (talk) 09:33, 5 April 2024 (UTC)
- Could you clarify what's inappropriate about the current title? The article and its talk page don't seem to indicate what the controversy is. ModernDayTrilobite (talk • contribs) 14:13, 5 April 2024 (UTC)
- Maybe WP:COMMONNAME, generally articles aren't called the operation name but what they are normally called (ex.Normandy landings, not Operation Overlord) @ModernDayTrilobite Me Da Wikipedian (talk) 21:51, 5 April 2024 (UTC)

Contested technical requests
- Boáz_Klartag → Bo'az_Klartag (currently a redirect back to Boáz Klartag) (move · discuss) – wrong spelling Gamesou (talk) 10:19, 2 April 2024 (UTC)
- I can see three different spellings of his name in various sources from multiple countries: Boáz, Bo'az, and Boaz. Deciding which one is correct requires some more evidence. ---DOOMSDAYER520 (TALK|CONTRIBS) 15:55, 2 April 2024 (UTC)
- @Gamesou: This technical request has been contested. As such, it would require a requested-move discussion, which you can begin by clicking "discuss" on your request. You can remove this request after opening a discussion (or if you do not want to continue). SilverLocust 💬 17:04, 4 April 2024 (UTC)

- Line Corporation → Z Intermediate Global Corporation (move · discuss) – company name has changed — Preceding unsigned comment added by GermanNavy (talk • contribs) 18:56, 3 April 2024 (UTC)
- @GermanNavy Seems like this should just be merged into LY Corporation instead. --Ahecht (TALK

- Any evidence to support the WP:NAMECHANGE? The new name does not seem as notable as the old name. – robertsky (talk) 19:39, 3 April 2024 (UTC)
- Juneau-Douglas High School → Juneau-Douglas: Yadaa.at Kalé High School (move · discuss) – New name User:Emphasis1 — Preceding undated comment added 05:13, 4 April 2024 (UTC) by User:Emphasis01
- Juneau-Douglas High School still appears to be the WP:COMMONNAME. Also, their website uses "Juneau-Douglas High School" in the title, "Juneau-Douglas High School: Yadaa.at Kalé" in the top banner, and "Juneau-Douglas High School" in the footer. I don't see your proposed title used anywhere. --Ahecht (TALK

- Maybe I could get Ahecht to remove their objection. Why are people saying something when they know nothing about names and common names? Juneau (JSD) has renamed several schools. Emphasis01 (talk) 06:39, 5 April 2024 (UTC)

- José Pellicer Gandía → José Pellicer (move · discuss) – "José Pellicer", using solely the patrilineal "Pellicer" without the matrilineal "Gandía", appears to be the common name throughout all of the cited sources. I can't currently move it, as a redirect already exists at that location. Grnrchst (talk) 15:30, 4 April 2024 (UTC)
- @Grnrchst:}, José Pellicer is an article about a different person. While José Pellicer Gandía may be the primary topic, that would not be an uncontroversial move and should be discussed on the talk page (with notification to the other talk page) first. --Ahecht (TALK

- Maria Mendiola (currently a redirect to María Mendiola) → María Mendiola (move · discuss) – Spanish accent mark ~ IvanScrooge98 (talk) 15:29, 4 April 2024 (UTC)
- @IvanScrooge98 I don't see consistent use of the accent in the sources as required by WP:DIACRITICS, so this probably should be discussed first. Please click the "discuss" link next to your submission to open a discussion on the article's talk page. --Ahecht (TALK
PAGE) 16:16, 4 April 2024 (UTC)- We should be consistent within Wikipedia though. She was born in Spain at a time when only Spanish-language names were allowed, so her name must be spelled in Spanish. ~ IvanScrooge98 (talk) 16:20, 4 April 2024 (UTC)
- And by the way, the few English-language sources I’ve seen on the article seem to agree over the Spanish spelling—as unanimously do the Spanish-language sources. ~ IvanScrooge98 (talk) 16:25, 4 April 2024 (UTC)
- @IvanScrooge98 I checked a few of the English sources at random, and the Mixmag, HitParade, Scotsman, STV, and BBC sources don't use the accent, while the Times of London and New York Times do. Not arguing for or against using it, just that there isn't enough of a consensus among English-language sources to justify moving without discussion on the talk page. --Ahecht (TALK
