NLM edit-a-thon on May 28

On Tuesday, 28 May there will be a community Wikipedia meeting at the United States National Library of Medicine in Bethesda, Maryland - with a second on Thursday, 30 May for those who can't make it on Tuesday. You can participate either in-person, or via an online webinar. If you attend in person, USB sticks (but not external drives) are ok to use.

If you are interested in participating, please register by sending an email to pmhmeet@gmail.com. Please indicate if you are coming in person or if you will be joining us via the webinar. After registering, you will receive additional information about how to get to our campus (if coming in-person) or details about how to join the webinar.

Interested participants should also sign your username below, and watch this page for updates!

Webinar/Edit-a-Thon starts at 2:15PM in 4th floor training room, Lister Hill Center

Make sure you get to the campus half an hour ahead to allow time to get through security and bring a photo ID. Details about getting there and security here: visitor information

12.30 – 1.30pm: NLM introduction and tour, how to get literature onsite

1.30 – 2.00pm: Meeting with Stephen Greenberg, History of Medicine section

2.15 - 2.40pm: Wikipedia and Medicine – James Heilman (Doc James)

2.40 - 3.00pm: Finding & choosing info online from NLM – Hilda Bastian (Hildabast)

3.00 - 3.30pm: How to edit Wikipedia – Lane Rasberry (Blue Rasberry)

3.30 - 5.00pm: Hands-on help with editing & searching

5.00 - 6.30pm: Discussion
