The 1982 Seattle Seahawks season was the team's seventh season with the National Football League. Head coach Jack Patera was fired after the first two games of the season, which were followed by a 57-day players strike. Mike McCormack coached the Seahawks after the strike for the last seven games of the strike-shortened season. The team started the season 0-2 before the season came to a halt because of the players' strike. After the strike ended, the Seahawks evened their record at 2-2 before losing a close game to the Los Angeles Raiders. After beating the Bears the next week, the team was upset at home 16-0 to the New England Patriots. Seattle ultimately finished the season 4-5, missing the playoffs as the 2nd team out.
