The 1982 Seattle Seahawks season was the team's seventh season with the National Football League . Head coach Jack Patera was fired after the first two games of the season, which were followed by a 57-day players strike. Mike McCormack coached the Seahawks after the strike for the last seven games of the strike-shortened season. The team started the season 0-2 before the season came to a halt because of the players' strike. After the strike ended, the Seahawks evened their record at 2-2 before losing a close game to the Los Angeles Raiders. After beating the Bears the next week, the team was upset at home 16-0 to the New England Patriots. Seattle ultimately finished the season 4-5, missing the playoffs as the 2nd team out.
