Nine players enrolled for the spring semester in order to participate in spring practice (eight former high school seniors on scholarship and one former junior college player on scholarship).

The early enrollees from high school include running back Joseph Yearby, offensive lineman Kc McDermott, offensive lineman Trevor Darling, wide receiver Braxton Berrios, defensive end Trent Harris, linebacker Juwon Young, linebacker Darrion Owens, and cornerback Ryan Mayes.

The junior college player that is enrolled early is defensive tackle Calvin Heurtelou. All of the players will take part in Miami's "U-tough" strength and conditioning program in February before spring practice starts in March.[3]
