The 2017 Recopa Sudamericana (Template:Lang-pt) will be the 25th edition of the Recopa Sudamericana, the football competition organized by CONMEBOL between the winners of the previous season's two major South American club tournaments, the Copa Libertadores and the Copa Sudamericana.

Teams qualified for the Final

According to the Copa Libertadores regulations Article 1.7 (in Spanish):[1]

That is, if the Copa Libertadores champion also wins the Copa Sudamericana, the Copa Libertadores runner-up and the Copa Sudamericana runner-up will play one or two matches in order to decide the team which will play in the Recopa Sudamericana.

Therefore, if the 2016 Copa Libertadores champion, Atlético Nacional, also wins the 2016 Copa Sudamericana, the following two teams will play one or two matches in order to decide the team which will play in the 2017 Recopa Sudamericana:

Format

The Recopa Sudamericana is played on a home-and-away two-legged basis, with the Copa Libertadores champion hosting the second leg. If tied on aggregate, the away goals rule is not used, and 30 minutes of extra time is played. If still tied after extra time, the penalty shoot-out is used to determine the winner.[1][2]
