The 2019 Chicago Marathon, the 42nd annual event of the Chicago Marathon, was held in Chicago, Illinois, United States on October 13, 2019. The men's race was won by Kenya's Lawrence Cherono while the women's race was won by Kenya's Brigid Kosgei.[1]
Summary
Lawrence Cherono of Kenya won the 2019 Chicago Marathon by one second in a time of 2:05:45 ahead of Dejene Debela and three seconds ahead of Asefa Mengstu both from Ethiopia.[2]
Brigid Kosgei won the women's race with a personal-best time. Brigid Kosgei breaks Paula Radcliffe's world record marathon record.[3]
Daniel Romanchuk won the men's wheelchair race and Manuela Schar claimed the women's equivalent.
