Kolathur is a state assembly constituency in Tamil Nadu. It is not to be confused with Kolathur(SC). It was carved out of the former Purasawalkam and Villivakkam assembly segments after the Delimitation of Constituencies, 2008. It is a part of Chennai North (Lok Sabha constituency).[clarification needed]
