Series chronology

The 24th series of the children's television show Thomas & Friends started airing on 1 May 2020 in the UK, and on September 1st 2020 in the US on Netflix. This is the last series of the original Thomas & Friends franchise. It is also the last to be animated by Jam Filled Toronto and this is the 3rd and last Thomas & Friends: Big World! Big Adventures! season of the series.

Mattel has revealed that Marc Forster would be directing a new film based on the franchise, and afterwards they will be producing new episodes in a new continuity separate from the original timeline. This new reboot, titled All Engines Go!, will be co-produced by Nelvana, which will also provide the animation for future episodes. The All Engines Go! reboot is set for an October 2021 Netflix debut.
