Chenar (Persian: چنار, also Romanized as Chenār)[3] is a village in, and the capital of, Cheshmeh Sabz Rural District of Golmakan District, Golbahar County, Razavi Khorasan province, Iran.[4]
At the 2006 National Census, its population was 161 in 52 households, when it was in the former Golbahar District of Chenaran County).[5] The following census in 2011 counted 205 people in 70 households.[6] The latest census in 2016 showed a population of 350 people in 111 households; it was the largest village in its rural district.[2]
After the census, Golbahar District was separated from Chenaran County to establish Golbahar County. It was divided into two districts, four rural districts, and two cities, with the city of Golbahar as its capital.[4]
