Strømsgodset won the Norwegian Cup by beating Rosenborg 1–0 on 21 October. The goal scorer for Strømsgodset was Steinar Pettersen who scored a penalty in the 78th minute. Rosenborg's Odd Iversen was sent off in the 90th minute.
23 209 spectators watched the game at Ullevål stadion in Oslo. The referee was Svein-Inge Thime. This was the third time Strømsgodset won the Norwegian Cup.
