The Somerset County Sheriff's Office (SCSO) in Somerset County, Maryland, United States, is the primary law enforcement agency servicing a population of 99,506 people within 320 square miles (830 km2) of jurisdiction.[1]

Duties

The SCSO is responsible for the protection of life and property, as well as enforcing orders of the court for Somerset County, Maryland.

Organization

Ronnie Howard is Sheriff of Somerset County, replacing Robert Jones, who retired after 28 years in office. Howard was sworn in December 2014, and is a 25-year veteran of the Maryland State Police, and former Somerset County Sheriff's Office deputy and chief deputy.[2]
