Kibris Mobile Telekomunikasyon Ltd., doing business as Kuzey Kıbrıs Turkcell, began to serve its subscribers as a foreign associate of Turkcell Communication Services Inc. on August 3, 1999. By March 2009, Kuzey Kıbrıs Turkcell had reached 318 thousand subscribers and earned a total of 11 million TL for network and other fixed asset investments and 45 million TL for 2G and 3G license investments.[citation needed]
