Thermus is a genus of thermophilic bacteria. It is one of several bacteria belonging to the Deinococcus–Thermus group. It includes the following species:[1][2][3]

Phylogeny

The currently accepted taxonomy is based on the List of Prokaryotic names with Standing in Nomenclature (LPSN) [18] and National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI)[19] and the phylogeny is based on 16S rRNA-based LTP release 132 by 'The All-Species Living Tree' Project.[20]
