Voco (stylized as voco™) is an international lifestyle hotel brand, owned by the InterContinental Hotels Group .[1] Since launching in 2018, voco has opened hotels in the UK, Australia, United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia. The name voco is based on the Latin word meaning ‘to invite’ or to ‘come together’.[2]
The first locations include the rebranding of 12 hotels from Covivio and the 388-room Watermark Hotel in Australia.[3]
In 2018, IHG leased a number of hotels originally owned by Principal Hotel Company and purchased by Foncière des Régions,[4] with voco St David's Cardiff Hotel selected to be the first voco hotel in Europe with 142 guest rooms.
