The 19259 / 60 Kochuveli-Bhavnagar Express is an Express train belonging to Indian Railways - Western Railway zone that runs between Kochuveli and Bhavnagar Terminus in India.

It operates as train number 12959 from Kochuveli to Bhavnagar Terminus and as train number 12960 in the reverse direction serving the states of Kerala, Karnataka, Goa, Maharashtra and Gujarat.[2]

Coaches

The 19259 / 60 Kochuveli-Bhavnagar Express has a total of 19 coaches which includes one AC 2 tier, three AC 3 tier, seven Sleeper class, six General Unreserved & two SLR (Seating cum Luggage Rake) Coaches. It does not carry a Pantry car coach.[3]

As is customary with most train services in India, Coach Composition may be amended at the discretion of Indian Railways depending on demand.

Service

The 19259 Kochuveli - Bhavnagar Terminus Express covers the distance of 2,260 km (1,404 mi) in 45 hours 30 mins (50 km/hr) & in 43 hours 50 mins as 19260 Bhavnagar Terminus - Kochuveli Express (52 km/hr).

As the average speed of the train is lower than 55 km/h (34 mph), as per Indian Railway rules, its fare doesn't include a Superfast surcharge.[4]

Routeing

The 19259 / 60 Kochuveli−Bhavnagar Express runs from Kochuveli via Kollam Junction, Ernakulam Junction, Shoranur Junction, Tirur, Kozhikode, Kannur, Mangalore Junction, Madgaon Junction, Ratnagiri, Panvel, Vasai Road, Vadodara Junction, Ahmedabad Junction, Botad Junction to Bhavnagar Terminus.

Traction

As large sections of the route are yet to be fully electrified, a Vatva based WDM-3A locomotive powers the train for its entire journey.
