Michael "Al" Morganti is a nationally recognized ice hockey analyst who has covered the National Hockey League (NHL) and international competitions. He is currently a pre- and post-game analyst for the Philadelphia Flyers of the NHL for games broadcast on NBC Sports Philadelphia. He is also a sports radio personality for 94 WIP in Philadelphia along with co-hosts Angelo Cataldi, Rhea Hughes, and fellow Flyers broadcast crew member Keith Jones. Airing weekday mornings from 5:30 a.m. till 10:00 a.m. Eastern Time, The Morning Show is the highest-rated sports radio show in the Philadelphia area.[citation needed]

Career

Originally from Boston[1] and a product of Boston University College of Communication,[2][3] Morganti started his journalism career there, writing for The Boston Globe.[4] He then became The Atlanta Constitution hockey beat writer, covering the Atlanta Flames.[5] Before joining the Flyers' broadcast crew, he was previously a regular hockey analyst for ESPN from 1993–2004, usually working with host John Saunders and analyst Jim Schoenfeld and a hockey writer for The Philadelphia Inquirer. He has been a co-host for The Morning Show on WIP since the early 1990s. He has also covered several Olympic Games, Canada Cups, World Cups, Wimbledon, and America's Cup competitions.
