The State Hydro-Meteorological Administration (Chosongul: 기상수문국) is the National Meteorological service of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.[1] The service started in 1961, joining the WMO in 1975.

In May 1975, it became an official member of the World Meteorological Organization (WMO), joined the Intergovernmental Oceanography Committee in November 1978, the International Hydrology Program (IHP) in 1980, and the Antarctic Treaty in November 1987.[1]
