Argylle is an upcoming spy film directed and produced by Matthew Vaughn. Written and produced by Jason Fuchs, it is based on the upcoming novel of the same name by first-time author Ellie Conway. The film features an ensemble cast consisting of Henry Cavill, Sam Rockwell, Bryce Dallas Howard, Bryan Cranston, Catherine O'Hara, John Cena, Samuel L. Jackson, and Dua Lipa.

Premise

The film follows Argylle, a world-class operative with amnesia tricked into believing they are a best-selling espionage novelist. Bryce Dallas Howard is set to portray the lead character, with Sam Rockwell as her love interest and Samuel L. Jackson as a rogue agent trying to expose "the corruption within the clandestine spy network."[1]

Cast

Production

In June 2021, it was announced that Matthew Vaughn would direct and produce Argylle through this production banner Marv Studios.[2] In July 2021, it was reported that the British-American project would be written by Jason Fuchs as an adaptation of the 2022 novel of the same name by first-time author Ellie Conway, with Henry Cavill, Sam Rockwell, Bryce Dallas Howard, Bryan Cranston, Catherine O'Hara, John Cena, and Samuel L. Jackson joining the cast.[3] Dua Lipa is set to make her acting debut on Argylle, and will also provide original music for the title track and score.[4] In August, the distribution rights to the film were sold to Apple TV+ for $200 million.[5]

Principal photography began in London with cinematographer George Richmond in August 2021, and will take place across various locations in Europe.[2][6][7][8]
