Armas Rudolf Taipale (July 27, 1890November 9, 1976) was a Finnish athlete who competed mainly in the discus throw.

He competed for Finland in the 1912 Summer Olympics held in Stockholm, Sweden in the discus throw where he won the gold medal. He followed this up with another gold medal in the discus throw – both hands, where the distance thrown with left arm was added to the distance thrown with the right arm.

After the war, Armas was one of the few defending champions to return to the 1920 Summer Olympics held in Antwerp, Belgium where he attempted to defend his discus title, the discus – both hands was not an event in any other games except 1912. He failed to win the gold finishing second to fellow Finn Elmer Niklander.
