Azzi Glasser (born January 1970)[1] is a British perfume designer as well as a creator of olfactory art.[2] Glasser was born in North London and spent her early years in India.[3] She launched her career in perfumery when she joined CPL Aromas in 1991 from there branching out to form her own companies, Agent Provocateur Parfum Ltd in 1999[4] INA Crystals in 2007, Family Three in 2001 and Bella Freud Parfum in 2014.

Early life

CPL Aromas

In 1991 Glasser joined CPL Aromas, a perfume house in Hertfordshire.[4] There she trained to understand the chemical behavior of raw materials and thrived on the creative side of the role. At the age of 23 she became commercial director.[5]

Agent Provocateur

In 2000 Glasser co-founded Agent Provocateur Parfums with Joseph Corre and Serena Rees, launching her first retail perfume ‘Agent Provocateur’.[6] It won the Fifi 2001 award for best new female fragrance in limited distribution, together with a special award for creative imagery.[7] Launched in 60 countries, Glasser and the team went on to create a bath and body collection which together with new additions to the fragrance led to the launch of the ‘House of Parfums’.

The Perfumer’s Story By Azzi

In October 2015, Azzi released her first collection of 11 limited edition men’s, women’s and unisex fragrances from her back catalogue in collaboration with luxury retailer Harvey Nichols.[12] Under the moniker, The Perfumer’s Story, this was the first time that Azzi had made these ground-breaking fragrances, many from her iconic client portfolio, available at retail.[13] The Perfumer’s Story was an instant success and is planned to roll out in other retailers globally in 2016.

Bespoke Atelier By Azzi Glasser

Having made bespoke perfums for many years for Hollywood celebrities and other high profile clients,[13] Azzi has brought this service to a wider audience. Private appointments are available to book through her website www.azziglasser.com and are strictly by appointment only. Consultations for the tailor-made fragrances take place within Azzi’s fragrance studio at her private residence.

Azzi's unique approach is to capture the client’s character personality and style in the fragrance.[14] She then composes an exclusive perfume for them using handpicked rare ingredients from around the world like a DNA print.[15] The fragrance will then be presented in a crystal bottle engraved with the name and formula number of the unique perfume, encased in a luxury hand made box.
