"Blue Ain't Your Color" is a song recorded by Australian country music singer Keith Urban and written by Steven Lee Olsen, Hillary Lindsey and Clint Lagerberg. It was released on 8 August 2016 as the fourth single from his ninth studio album, Ripcord by Hit Red and Capitol Nashville. The song was produced by Dann Huff.

Content

The song is about a male observing a lonely woman at a bar who is dissatisfied in her relationship.

The song is in the key of G major and a 12/8 time signature, with a main chord pattern of G-Am-C-D-G.[1]

Commercial performance

In the United States, "Blue Ain't Your Color" reached number 8 on the Country Airplay chart and number one on the Hot Country Songs chart.[2]

The song debuted at number 73 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and has since reached number 24.[3] This is Keith's nineteenth top 40 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, seventh top 30 hit and first top 30 hit since "We Were Us" in 2013. As of November 2016, the song has sold 502,000 copies in the United States.[4]

Music video

The music video was directed by Carter Smith and premiered in September 2016.[5]
