Parent category for British people

[edit]

Is it correct to categorize this category under category of Category:British people by nationality? Should there be a intermediate category named something like Category:United Kingdom people by nationality or Category:UK people by nationality? Than this category Category:Northern Irish people would be subcategory of such category. Anyway, maybe I haven't searched hard enough. All the best. --Biblbroks's talk 14:11, 15 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It is bad enough that the name has been changed from "Northern Irish". These categories now stick out like a sore thumb, and it is obvious that the change was politically motivated. Northern Irish people are British whether they like it or not, just like hundreds of millions of people around the world who live in a state not of their choosing. However, due to the sentimental influence of Irish identity, and the powerful influence of guilt-based political correctness in the UK and the US on wikipedia, this group of categories is the only one of its type in the world that has been subjected to a politicised change that defies state boundaries recognised by the UN. If the Northern Irish Catholics want to change reality, they will have to fight another war, and win it. Only after that should this category have been renamed.
